Best auto-targeting missile cruiser, hac or bc?

Hey I was wondering for level 3 missions wich of these are the best with auto targeting light missiles or heavy missiles?
Caracal, cerberus, tengu, sac, cyclone, drake, orthrus, gila?

I had some ideas of trying out a caracal with mwd and burn to rats and start shooting maybe mixing rapid lights and heavy missiles. Though I heard its not optimal but Im going for odd but fun.

I'd probably use heavy for lv3s the damage application is fine, plus you can always fit/rig for better application.

My first thought is to use the orthrus, with auto-targeting velocity is important as your missiles will seek out the nearest target and the faster they get there the less likely an extra volley will be launched after the ship goes down. The bargest is my favorite lv4 auto-targeting ship. Although looking at it in eft I'm not sure the orthrus is that great.

The tengu has a dps and tank advantage, not sure how much dps you would lose to double shooting though, but with the huge tengu tank you can be in close and not worry about that too much. I've used it to afk lv4s in the past.

not sure how effective auto-targeting will be on the gila, but the drone damage is something impressive.

Just did the same thing and damn, thats low DPS.

I would Tengu as well, anything a Cerb can do a Tengu can do better. Drake does not get as big a bonus to Velocity or DPS. Gila is mostly Drone DPS. Everything else is just as bad or worse.

I'd utilize a Barghest with rapid heavy launchers.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

If you are talking pure FoF missile ship, thenTengu with heavy missiles. It's what I use.

Anything with the word "rapid" in it sucks for pve, with the only exceptions being when you put them on either a Gila (Rapid Lights) or a Rattlesnake (Rapid Heavies).

For lvl 3s (and lazy lvl 4s) the 10mn afterburner Gila is the best FoF+ drone ship. Launch drones, select a drone and set approach on it, start FoF missiles and watch your gila fly around a sweep up the entire mission on it's own. Bonus fun if you do it with the 1st person/cockpit camera.
