I love EvE Online. I've been playing it for 10 years. It’s scope is truly amazing. For what it’s worth here are my recommendations for changes in the game…

Directional scanner auto refreshes (nothing is added to the game manually refreshing every 5 seconds)

All ships except shuttles can carry a shuttle

Separate ammo cargo hold

Market lists items before gathering regional prices (to stop the lag when you just want to look something up)

Corporations have a task management page. Directors can place jobs that need doing.

Corporations have a designation (i.e. Pirate, Mercenary, Industry & Exploration) aiming to make corps more specialized instead of trying to do everything. The designation gives bonuses such as cheaper war declarations for Mercs.

Lower loot for high sec gankers. More loot for lowsec pirates. There is no risk involved with high sec ganking. Risk and reward goes hand in hand with EvE Online.

Pilots can belong to multiple corporations. Working the same as the jump clone system. Time based designation.

But what I really want is an in-station pub for fleet members to sit around whilst things get organized... no more spinning ships!

-It does, it ensures that people who aren't too lazy to hit the refresh key have an advantage over those who are.
-Why? Are you proposing a shuttle bay, or that all ships get enough cargo space to haul a repackaged shuttle?
-No. Ammo takes like no space anyway.
-This isn't half bad of an idea.
-It's called the corp chat MOTD.
-No. If it can be changed then people will switch it when it suits them, and then it's just a blanket buff. If it can't then it locks corps into what they're doing, and that's bad because corps should be able to change. What if my hisec indy corp decides to move to nullsec and do some PvP?
-lul. The loot that highsec and lowsec pirates get is influenced by the amount of stuff people carry. And there is risk, if I'm mid-gank and the freighter's Falcon alt decloaks I might lose all my catalysts/taloses/bombers and get stuck in station for 15 minutes with nothing to show for it. Furthermore, what stops me from doing the same in lowsec with a bunch of cheap catalysts anyway? Sure I might get shot back at, but CONCORD guarantees I lose all my ships anyway in hisec.
-Oh, that won't be abused/be a pain in the ass to code.
-I would like to see a bit more of the inside of the station.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

Why would I need a shuttle? I mean I like having one but I usually trash them or leave them wherever when I go back to my ship, I don't like making multiple trips so anywhere i go in a shuttle means I need to turn around and go back to get back in a real ship and continue what im doing. Plus shuttles have limited cargo space so going quickly to buy drones or restock doesn't work cause it's only 10m3. They'd have to buff it to 50-100m3 or something to be useful enough to go buy drones or whatever.
I'm not against the idea, I've thought that before myself but the uses seem extremely limited and i discard the idea immediately. I'd mostly just want it to have it even if I don't need it. If i can send it remotely to pick something small up for me sure. But generally I can't only fly one ship and there's no reason for me to have a shuttle cause I'd be leaving my normal ship behind and im just gonna go back for it. But thematically i feel every space ship in sci-fi settings usually have shuttles/escape pods and whatnot for various purposes assuming they're big enough.
No to anything smaller than cruisers having them where would they put them. On a bs or up sure I can see them having a shuttle bay. But we use capsules anyway, just give capsules 10m3 cargo and 500m/s and boom it's a captain's shuttle.
(On a side note that angers me greatly, they spent all that time revamping explosions that lag me out of im zoomed in, but they don't even have escape pods shooting out of the ship before it blows up. When the animation starts their should have been little escape pod rocket flares seconds before it goes boom, these are still manned ships with crews)

For cargo hold I'd rather have customizable cargo, drones have a small settings tab for aggresive/passive. I say out a settings box like that in the cargo and be able to create sections, name them and decide how much of my total cargo space is allocated to that.
Gnosis has 900m3 and is what I'm generally flying.
5-10m3 for ammo
I would make a 150m3 tab named deployable for my mtu and depot.
Exploration tab big enough to hold my modules when i switch fits and everything else would be a junk/loot tab.
They can either be separate tabs like chat Windows or all in one, and separated by horizontal dividers and you can put them in any order like the skill queue by dragging them vertically and they're collapsible. once you drag a module manually to a tab it will snap back to that tab, scooping an mtu for example. It snaps back to the deployable section, if i dont drag it it goes to undesignated cargo space. I don't know how hard that would be to program but i assume some sort of script that activates when you make a section and if you drag an item to that section whenever something is removed or added to cargo a cargo filter will screen out all items in the undesignated default cargo space for x amount of x item and move it automatically to the right slot but i don't know how the cargo would be made to remember. Would you save it manually like an overvoew or have it reset everytime you log out.

I'm fine with the scanner and market ideas. It would be best to make the directional scanner a little sonar box you could pin and it just swirls around constantly and pings you if something specific pops up you have filtered maybe.

But this thread will be moved to features and ideas.

Directional scanner auto refreshes (nothing is added to the game manually refreshing every 5 seconds)

While I don't hate the idea, it would mean unnecessary traffic from people who are just afk with their scanner window open. Not sure how bad the impact would be, though.

All ships except shuttles can carry a shuttle
Not a bad idea.

Separate ammo cargo hold
Not a bad idea either.

Market lists items before gathering regional prices (to stop the lag when you just want to look something up)
I'm not saying it's legacy code, but it's probably legacy code.

Corporations have a task management page. Directors can place jobs that need doing.
I don't care.

Corporations have a designation (i.e. Pirate, Mercenary, Industry & Exploration) aiming to make corps more specialized instead of trying to do everything. The designation gives bonuses such as cheaper war declarations for Mercs.
I am not sure if this is necessary. I wouldn't want the game push labels on people, just because they can benefit from the boni that label would give them.

Lower loot for high sec gankers. More loot for lowsec pirates. There is no risk involved with high sec ganking. Risk and reward goes hand in hand with EvE Online.
Why am I not against this?

Pilots can belong to multiple corporations. Working the same as the jump clone system. Time based designation.
I don't know. While it would be very convenient, this may cause a bit of a mess. Would have to think about war decs and standings and awoxing and who knows what else.

But what I really want is an in-station pub for fleet members to sit around whilst things get organized... no more spinning ships!
Get Out! WiS is dead.

Those are surprisingly good ideas for General Discussion. Post in Player Features and Ideas next time. TIA.

As long as I'm breathing walking in stations isnt dead kupo.
Alternatively as long as star citizen is in anyone's memory it isn't dead. Half the fun of having a spaceship is being able to disembark and go explore stuff/asteroids/ruins in a space suit or walk around inside my ship and **** off with my crew of exotic male dancers

No. As the Dark Overlord pointed out, this is something you can do now. Just stop carrying such stupid amounts of ISK value in terms of cargo. Lower drop if you are ganked, and you'll make yourself less gank worthy too.

Did you really need to quote his entire post, just to respond to five words in it near the end?

Seems pretty stupid and pointless to include all the stuff that is already on the same page, that isn't even relevant to what you want to say.

As to WiS not being dead, hahahaha. Show us all that functionality that you are going to keep alive.

Aside from the potential issue of creating more work for the server when someone goes AFK with their d-scan window open, I'm not against this.

Don't carry so much stuff. BAM! Less likely to be ganked and less loot when gankers to kill you.

Mostly horrible ideas the only one Ill respond to that I would want to ponder moreso is the multiple corporation thing.

The idea is that yes it would complicate things for individuals. Do war decs against one corp spill over to the other corps with members? Is there a cost inherent in joining multiple corps? Standings issues or even isk sinks. Its less about the spais as they want to appear as only caring about the corp/alliance they are in tbh. The social factor for dead corps is a huge thing and promotes an "alliance lite" or "faux alliance" sort of socialization aspect that might appeal to some. To combine this with a sort of cost factor might encourage socialization of smaller corps or even one man corps somewhat with the drawbacks listed above.

The only other factor I would consider is lower loot drops for ganking yet no higher for low sec or anywhere else. It would simply bring the cost more in line with the rewards and raise the floor for profitable ganking slightly.

Personally I would love to see a "money laundering" feature in Eve for ALL ganked loot. That it is criminally flagged, like the other illegal goods, with MUCH stiffer penalties to both transport AND reselling until it is laundered in an "appropriate" low sec pirate station with a "black market" dealer. This would facilitate more need to transport and smuggle goods to return them to market rather than gank on Jita 4-4 undock, dock up loot scooper and immediately put on market and also facilitate the ability to destroy MORE loot than the 50% loot drops atm.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.
