"Preferred" Phoenix missile type?

I'm currently training up to fly a Phoenix Dreadnought and I'm at the point where I need to start training my missile skills (I almost never use them) so instead of spending a month and a half training both Torps and Cruise missiles to lvl 5, I thought I'd ask if for a Phoenix one is more useful than the other. I was going to focus on cruise missiles, because I figured with a capital ships slow speed, those would be more useful, and that drones would be more useful to target anything that gets too close. But I've never been in a capital ship fight so idk. So is one more useful than the other? Should I still train both? Should I first join a Corp that uses capital ships and ask what they prefer?

Thanks

If you're training to use a dreadnaught...you should have already been in a capital fight. Or, better yet, be in a corp that's ready to provide you with their battle philosophy and share in their experience.

Dreads, as well as all other caps, are team vessels. You ought not to be training into one without already having a team that has your back and a plan to utilize you as best as possible.

I thought as much. Alright, time to find a capital corp.

I thank Pandemic Legion uses capitals. Try applying there. If I recall they are new pilot friendly, so they'll set you up with fits for all the dreads.
