Mass Cloak?

What do you guys think of a module or ship that can create a field of say 10-15 km in diameter and any ship within that field can be cloaked if they are in the same fleet but all cloaking mechanics still apply. Perhaps make a ship that is specifically designed for this like the command destroyers with their MJD capabilities, or have a module that a command ship would have equipped?

It would be pretty hilarious when someone burns a spy so they turn off all the hardeners on a fleet, or turn it on so that no one can warp away giving the dictors time to bubble.

The reason to have a cloak in the first place is to not get noticed until it's too late. I would say this space boondoggle would completely neutralize itself, since just one pilot error leads to everyone suddenly noticing the cloaked fleet in their midst.

Hey, CCP could name this thing the "Troll Cloak", since it is essentially trolling everyone who uses it. P

A cloak is a fitting decision that can gimp your ship. You fit a cloak for specific purposes and take the penalties if the benefit outweighs the cost.

This however gives a free cloak to entire fleets without any drawbacks whatsoever....I'd say no to this one, and I'm a cloaky fanboy.

If you want a cloak, fit one. Pretty much any ship can do so (assuming it has a high slot)....but you have to pay the price.

What if it acted like a cyno where you cant do anything but sit there and the ship using it couldn't be cloaked?

So you want to make space with a huge number of cloaky ships and just make every other ship cloaky too. Great way to make no one take fight in WHs ever. Already super easy to trick people into attacking with a huge fleet on standby .

If you want to cloak a ship, fit a cloak to it. It's literally that simple.

I've decided I like the idea a lot.
My only demand, is that all ships under the Mass Cloak Effect will have a 60 second delay upon de-cloaking.
They cannot move or activate targeting or modules for 60 seconds.

This feels like a very fun mechanic indeed.
