Hi All

Im looking for advice on what direction I should take my character? Ive played off and on for years, but never really actually done anything. Im hoping to find some advice that will get me back into the game with a short to medium term plan and start doing something fun.

What's fun for me? Even I don't know. I enjoyed mining/industry back in the day. Exploration. What little combat PvP I've done, I've also enjoyed...

I even debated just starting from scratch again so that I can re-introduce myself to the game and really find my own way, but walking away from 25m SP (no matter how poorly planned) feels like it would be a mistake...

Thoughts? Thanks.

Exploration has been expanded and is arguably one of the best paying 'careers' in Eve. More, the probe scanner is a content key for many special events. It's hard to argue against exploration as a direction to take a character.
It happens everywhere and goes from a hacking mini-game without even rats to deal with, to combat sites and escalations, mining. And of course, PvP as there is lots of competition out there.

Grab a Stratios, enjoy the improved probing interface, try different content. You can get into ninja mining gas sites in W-Space, or hunt other explorers in dangerous space. It's a huge swath of content to check out.
While you can do it alone, I always suggest finding other people to share content with (do harder content). But exploration is pretty solo-friendly.

Eve is a game - you are playing for entertainment and the only way to find the right mix for you is to try things. If you think you might be interested in PVP - join a FW corp or RvB and give it a try. Maybe you'll enjoy it, maybe not. For exploration there is Signal Cartel. Fleet action in sovereign nullsec can be found with Pandemic Hoard or Karma Fleet. If you don't like it - leave and try something else. If you do like it - that's the time to discuss your skill plan with a more experienced player in corp, they know which skills will be most valuable for that play style.

Don't start again from scratch, that's actually a pretty decently skilled character. Solid Engineering skills. Decent Navigation. Some quite lush Ship Command skills and fairly well rounded Drones.

Any character you create now is going to want all of those.
