New weapon type is needed

Ever since eve was created we have had only 4 main weapons. Lasers, Missiles, Railguns and Howitzers. These are getting a little boring. there is noting new in weapons. There needs to be new weapons. Nanite disassemblers. these little guys pack a mean punch. what ever they are used against will be torn apart bit by bit suffering x amount of damage. Even after the battle until their energy cells deplete. the life span can be determined by the ship type using them. frigates and destroyers 15 to 20 minutes. Cruisers and battle cruisers 20 to 40 minutes. Battleships a full hour, capital ships 2 hours POS's and Citadels up to 4 hours. A new Nanite delivery drone can be created to deliver the nanites. Eventually we can expand this to cover ground bombardments.

Maybe nanite weaponry is a bit difficult to program in to the game, but a new weapon type or two would be nice.

You forgot drones and smartbombs.

Only thing Id like to see is more T2 or even T3 ammo types for the weapons we have already. That would create more than enough changes to what the standard is right now than brand new weapons balancing and testing would ever need.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Why are DOTs wanted in EVE? It's not like you have to keep pressing F1 for each volley.

DoT wouldn't work well in a game where you can stack so much in a big fleet people will instantly die after the next server tick before they can broadcast for reps, or before reps can land. Gives a huge advantage to bigger fleets using this type of weaponry.

Plus i think this winds up in the domain of F&I just an FYI

OK, listen the F up. You are going to DPS very, very slowly. Now. And by slowly I mean Fing slow.

If you get aggro it means you're going to lose 50 DKP 'cuz you didn't know what the F to do. And watch the Fing tail. If you get kicked into the whelps, you lose 50 DKP again for not being where the F you were supposed to be. There is no aggro reset. You only nee... There's some S about an aggro reset when people don't know how to manage their aggro.

After 2 sunders you can basically start doing damage to it, assuming you know how aggro works and you don't over-aggro. OK, nuke it dot it. Help the whelp groups. When it's in phase 2 nuke it as hard as possible. You want to get it down as fast as possible. Have dots up on... on every time, 2 rows, shadow word: pain, warlock curses, rends, everything. I don't see enough dots, more dots now.

Come on, more DPS. Hit it like you mean it!

Nanites? Silliest eve-suggestion Iv ever heard. You've been watching too many new-age movies.

DoT wouldn't work in eve, for a myriad of other reasons.

When posting an idea it is customary to do three things:
1. Explain why it's needed. "I think it would be cool if..." is not a valid reason.
2. Explain how you're going to balance it. How much damage does it do? How much PG/CPU? How much will it cost? These can be ballpark numbers, but at least give us an idea.
3. Post in the right section.
Failure to do these things will almost certainly result in your thread being trolled.

The word 'new' is loaded with positive baggage. Unless you are a farmer, in which case all change is bad.
People ask what's new when they should ask, what's best? In a balanced game, best is situational and very often your preparation is a dice-roll.
I think it was Huxley who wrote about new being turned into a good word by hypnotic cretinising technology.

Yet i still wait for the Corpse Launcher, it's sound effects and it's -10 thermal damage.

Bring back the mines.

CCP can do it now. We have the technology.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)
