Well. Here is another "whiny" post from Teddy.
At this time i'd like to speak about DED complexes.
Let me remind you what it looked like.
7\10 to 10\10 DEDs were a great place where content happened. DEDs hid juicy mods and prints that cost a lot. like Vindi BPC could cost 1bil + faction\deadspace loot. So the total drop could cost up to 1.8 bil (thats the highest drop i personaly had)
So this DEDs attracted huge ammount of pilots and filled the empty space everywhere and served as a place of amazing battles with a guaranteed absence of cyno warfare, rage, pain, fake links of loot in local etc.

Nowadays nobody cares about this DEDs, coz it's realy don't worth any good. First time when DEDs got first strike was nulifired T3 Cruisers. Second and final shot that totally killed DED was made when expeditions started to drop in sanctums and havens like a waterfall.

Now no need to scan cosmic signatures in search of DEDs. Just because it costs nothing. Why it is a great loss? We've lost a huge slice of PvP content. That was a natural reason for people to form little fleets or fit a solo fancy ship with shiny mods in it and go for a jackpot, and this happened all over the universe. DED filled the empty space with pilots that were searching for them, and pilots that were searching for pilots who searched for DED. A lot of PvP happened around this little juicy meetpoints. But now we have only aligned carrier in sanctum, lol.

So i suggest just to think and discuss what can be done with this problem.
As for me, i think cosmic signatures and expeditions should be separated. It must be a different loot at list. Cosmic signatures must be a huge attractor for all pilots in region or constelation.

I would love to see escalations go away completely and thereby make exploration a more lucrative and competitive profession. In other words, I agree with Teddy.

static DED is vulnurable though, because it will be instantly owned by a big alliance.

We have the NPC Capital spawns to keep it unpredictable. What needs to go away are the escalation farms. I know people who were running 5-6 of their own 6/10's or 10/10's per day when we lived in Vale. That's an insane amount of DED loot coming into the game and it completely devalued exploration.

I agree with you in principle.

When they first buffed escalation rates, ratting in null actually wasn't terrible compared to other methods, especially since it was the golden age of carrier ratting, where it scaled well enough to beat out incursions, etc, especially over multiple accounts. The ticks alone didn't do this, but between loot and the number of escalations you picked up, it actually was competitive, nullsec actually had value.

Well yeah the rest is history, loot became hilariously cheap, the A-type modules from 6/10s are the only ones not hilariously saturated, and we are back to square one; dedicated explorers lost their bread and butter and nullsec is back to crap.

Yes, they should get rid of the escalations and make deadspace loot interesting again, or make a separate loot table for scanned down sites versus escalations - plenty of modules do not yet have deadspace variants yet, and these would probably sell pretty well so long as they are kept scarce. The intent to make null ratting more lucrative via escalations was good in concept though; null ratting SHOULD beat out Hi Sec Incursions every time - until this is the case the content-ecosystem of New Eden is just plain broken.

I know what you're saying, but I'm just saying your claim that "Nowadays nobody cares about this DEDs" isn't correct

I would like to see randomized sites where the waves of ships or just total amount of ships arent the exact same all the damn time... so you cant follow a script on how to do them.

I just did a 10/10 yesterday. First one for me as I almost never go ratting. Any who, I must say that the whole experience was pretty anti climactic for me and the guys I was running it with. We did the whole thing with two Cruise fit ravens w/medium shield drones and a HAM fit legion. The legion was never in any danger and the worst damage either of the ravens took was when one accidentally volleyed the other due to having locked him for drones.

Now don't get me wrong the loot was okay, a couple of x-type modules and the overseer loot. But the whole thing was just boring. We went in expecting a fight and at the end of it I think the legion could have soloed it. It would have just taken even longer.

I like the idea of randomizing the ship configurations and the addition of capital rats to some of these 10/10 wouldn't be a bad idea. But why not throw in some of the more advanced ships that the players use. I mean think of all those cruisers in room four are now heavy assault cruisers with a few being logi, or some of those destroyers are now T3's. Heck even just giving them the same AI battle algorithms you get in the incursion sites. Even without changing the ship compositions if the ships worked together they would much harder to deal with.
