Grappler Bonuses

I think that a bonus should be applied to ships like the Bhaalgorn when using Grapplers. The Bhaalgorn would have its 100% turret damage bonus reduced to 75% with a 5% additional bonus added to the Stasisfier Range giving it a 1% increase per level of web range per level.

Stasis Grappler Bonus : 15% increase in optimal range with a 1% per level in effectiveness falloff per level up to level 5.

This would be hilariously OP, there's a reason the ships with web bonuses don't also have grappler bonuses. They're different modules, with different roles, and shouldn't share bonuses like this.

also the e-war that baglhorns have is cap warfare, it would be odd to have two e-war on same ship, and its not like current pilots want it to be lessened in its current roles.

If it only make sense to have a stasis bonus go to the grapler, and even then mabey not.

Stasis bonus working on grappler mean a Vindicator slow you down by over 120% in optimal range.

No maybe about it unless you want Vindicators that make you fly backwards...

The funniest part of this question is that maybe even CCP don't know WTF really would happen if they did apply a slow greater than 100% on a ship. For all we know, ship velocity is a variable that can't be negative and the number would just loop back to maximum value sending the target ship flying forward at "bumping out of the sun" speed.

CCP can you please test this on a dev server and report on the result.

An interesting thought, but it is likely that CCP has accounted for this already with a simple check for a negative number.

Although the whole idea of making a ship fly backwards using a module could be hysterically OP in and of itself.

to get back on track -1 to the OP.

FYI from the Uni Wiki entry for the Bhaalgorn:

Quote:
Minmatar Battleship bonuses (per skill level):
20% bonus to Stasis Webifier optimal range

So the ship already has multiple EWar systems. The discussion is about whether or not web bonuses should apply to Stasis Grapplers.

History has shown that the game code doesn't like values greater than 100% or less than 0 unless the DEVs make special allowances.

Deep Space Transports with more than 100% resistance to a damage type would take infinite damage if hit by that damage type.

Tracking and range would revert to (respectively) "perfect" and "infinite" if the tracking and range value of a turret went below 0.

It is really funny when it happens.
