Drone Navigation skill and drone tracking

I have a quick question. Does the Drone Navigation skill affect drone tracking and hit quality?

I assume the navigation skill increases all of the drones speed, including orbit speed, and not just the MWD speed.

So if you train Drone Navigation to level 5, would that actually decrease drone hit quality because of the increased orbiting speed or distance and increased transversal?

If so, then what is the optimal level to train Drone Navigation to?

The optimal level is 5. Faster drones can reach their targets and return to the drone bay more quickly. There is a drone navigation computer you can fit to make them go even faster. As far as I know, speed has no impact on accuracy - when they reach their target they will orbit at optimal range. To improve drone damage application, train sharpshooting. Both are low rank skills and worth the time to train to level 5

i think i read somewhere that this skill doesn't apply to orbit speed but i could very well be wrong. would be a bit of a detriment to have higher skill mean less tracking :)

Train to level 5. Takes less time for them to return in an emergency. I would have lost quite a few drones otherwise.
And Tech 2 ones aren't that cheap, especially if you are a new pilot.

Drone Navigation is not supposed to affect orbit velocity, just MWD.
