Hi, I started experiencing some problems loading up my launcher starting early yesterday morning. The launcher seems to stall on "checking GUI version...", sometimes it'll get past that but everything loads so slow. I've been able to log into my account but it just says "please wait" and won't load the launch button.

Even loading up the eveonline.com website is much slower than normal, all of my other internet browsing has been unaffected. It seems like anything Eve related has dramatically slowed down and I'm not sure why.

I haven't installed anything new on my computer, I've been doing things as usual but this issue seems to have popped up out of nowhere.

For what it's worth I did the traceroute option in network diagnostics in the launcher and it timed out on line 17, 18, 19. I have no idea what that means but I assume it shouldn't be timing out.

I also tried the download option and it wouldn't download the small file, it just keeps popping up with 0%. There must be some kind of connectivity problems between the Eve servers and myself.

Here's what the traceroute error looks like:

This is the download getting stuck at 0%:

Here is a response from someone that was having similar issues :
Quote:

Wasn't due to antivirus/firewall, or faulty settings

Seems it was probably a flaky modem/router, or something strange with the ISP that was fixed when I was allocated a new IP address (or whatever they do with a new cable modem).

You were right about the tracert being nonsense, client now works fine but trace is the same. Ping also returns "destination net unreachable". I didn't try pingplotter.

I remember everything was working fine that morning until the launcher asked me to provide a character name on my account. It seems like my IP was changed/renewed and these issues are stemming from right after that.

Just an update, it seems as though the Eve https pages are the ones loading very slowy/not loading at all. I've tried loading up the eveonline.com website from a few different browsers and they're all the same. Everything is slow to load or doesn't load at all.

I've bypassed my router altogether and still the issue persists. It seems to me like this is a network problem. I've tried renewing my IP with DHCP release/renew and checked that I had a different IP and it doesn't make a difference. I've set up a static IP as well and it had no effect.

I would file a ticket with CCP but I can't even access that page on any browser. This is what it looks like, everything is unclickable:

Sounds like this might be an issue you need to have your ISP resolve.

Might be worth looking at this: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using#configure_your_network_settings_to_use_google_public_dns

I tried that link and it didn't work.

I know it must be something from my ISP, I tried bypassing my router and using a direct connection to my internet source and that didn't work. I also tried loading up the site from my laptop and that didn't work either. So the error must be with my internet connection itself.

For some reason I can't establish a secure connection with anything eve related. The problem seemed to be worse (as in completely couldn't reach eveonline.com) when I bypassed my router.

I don't know where to go from here. I've been unable to connect to Eve for about 4 days now. I'll try contacting my ISP but I'm not sure where to start with them.

Issue seems to have resolved itself. I still have no idea what was wrong, hopefully it doesn't happen again.
