Apologies if you missed my sarcasm, but mixing different weapons systems is generally a bad idea (outside of some niche situations). I'm not sure that the Rattlesnake even gets a HAM bonus, in which case you'd probably be better off with a RHML setup or even a cruise setup.

Theoretical damage output is not the same as applied damage output.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

but wouldn't the ham technically apply more of the damage it could do than what a cruise missile could apply?

You can always test in Test Server.

I personally find that a rattlesnake with two scripted missile guidance comps applies near perfect to battleships using cruise missiles. A couple scripted omni's and heavy drones also hit very well. They wont have perfect tracking vs frigs, but they're usually able to alpha them still unless you're pretty unlucky.

Over 1k dps with near perfect application does pretty well.

For sanctums the cruise missiles work well. The Wasps tend to kill the smaller stuff fairly effectively. MJD is helpful to pull or get in range.

For the rock havens everything spawns in close so you can use torps. Just drop a can at warp in and orbit it at 500. A few ship will pull range and you can use drones. But enough remain close so you can use the torps.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Pretty much this except I would just go inside and sit on the pirate gate and blap away personally. Honestly though, the amount of work you need to do to make torps relatively effective in ratting is obscene. Not only do you need application but you need to bump your range to ~20km, which actually takes quite a bit. Because those rats will burn away from you. Some will bounce off the gate/asteroid as they spawn in and shoot off pretty quick.

Torp/Heavy drone snakes have redonkulus dps numbers though.
