I've got 25m ISK; How to get to 100m?

Via missions (Career Missions, SOE epic arc, and Security missions) and some hauling/trading I've been able to save 25 million.

Hauling/trading is a bit promising- yesterday I was able to make about 5 million in about 2-3 hours trading between systems- but at that rate it will take me another 20 days, if I'm lucky and don't get blown up- to hit my initial goal of 100 million.

I can't make more hauling/trading because I don't have enough capital to buy the expensive stuff that has the highest profit, so I've been mostly carry cheap stuff like wheat and electronic parts. The best I've been able to do is about 400k per trip, and that's just because I was lucky to stumble on a nice trade route (Olettier to Crielere) while transporting something else to Olettier.

Anyway, can you provide suggestions for getting to 100m more quickly and efficiently? I would prefer to stick to trading but would do other things if that will get me there more quickly.

Thanks.

The fastest way to earn ISK is...

...buy a PLEX at Account Management Website of CCP and sell it on the market.
I remember times, not long ago, where a PLEX cost about 380.000.000 ISK on market.
The US$ or EUR price to buy a PLEX did not increase much since these days.
But at the moment you earn more than 1.100.000.000 ISK for selling one PLEX...

I wanted to do it the old fashioned way: earn it.

Not saying I won't resort to PLEX at some point in the future, but to me buying the ISK takes some of the fun out of it, at least at this point.

So may be run Courier Missions.

Fit for this a hauler ship with
- 1x Hyperspatial Verlocity Optimizer RIG
- 1x Low Friction Nozzle Joints RIGs
- 1x Cargohold Optimization RIG
Put Inertia Stabilizers into the low slots of the Ship (one ore two, not more) and
fill the other low slots with Expanded Cargohold. Fill med slot with an Afterburner.

This enables you to run courier missions very fast. And depending on the Level of the
Agent (Level 3 or 4), the payout is not bad. For Level 4 Courier Missions you should have
a cargo hold of about 10.000 m³, that fits for all.

Edit:
Courier Missions for lower Level agents most you can do in a frigate with bigger cargo hold
(Magnate, Heron, Imicus) and with these you are quite faster as with a hauler ship.
The faster the Mission is done, the faster you can do the next mission.

Exactly the reason I haven't gone to PLEX myself, just takes the satisfaction out of earning it. In all honesty station trading is just a joke at the moment, too much competition and constant monitoring of your orders for minimal profits. All you need is one infuriating noob to lower their price by 500k or something on a sell order of 20-30 items to wipe out a significant chunk of your profit. I found it a little boring aswell.

You can generally make the same sort of money ratting a couple of sites from bounty alone, plus pay for costs and you get the chance of Commander drops & escalations, all pure profit. The other alternative is exploration in low or nullsec, wormholes need a stronger stomach before exploring in them.

Scamming is for lazy players with no imagination, given the vast variety of scams on Jita local *tips sarcasm hat*

Another thing, I sometimes doing just for fun:

Fit a frigate for PvE, here an example fitting for the tristan:
https://o.smium.org/loadout/20308

Fly through space and look out for Cosmic Anomalies. In Gallente Space they named
◾Serpentis Burrow (Serpentis-Bau)
◾Serpentis Den (Serpentis-Höhle)
◾Serpentis Forlorn Hideaway (Verlassener Serpentis-Unterschlupf)
◾Serpentis Forsaken Hideaway (Einsamer Serpentis-Unterschlupf)
◾Serpentis Hidden Hideaway (Geheimer Serpentis-Unterschlupf)
◾Serpentis Hideaway (Serpentis-Unterschlupf)
◾Serpentis Refuge (Zuflucht der Serpentis)
◾Serpentis Drug Outlet (Serpentis-Drogenvertriebsstelle) - (DED 1/10)
◾Serpentis Hideout (Serpentis-Versteck)
These ^^^ are from site: http://de.sistersprobe.wikia.com/wiki/Serpentis_im_HiSec#Serpentis_Anomalien

Kill the rats there. Loot the wrecks.
Sometimes you earn terrific loot items. I remember one time in
Gallente Space I found an Implant in one wreck, worth 400 Million.

The loot items you find in the wrecks, sell them on market.
Keep the items you may find useful for yourself to fit your ships better.

jita local is glorified begging,
social engineering and confidence scamms can be rather complicated, engaging and represent literal years of nuanced and skilled work.
dont judge by the lowest of the low here

The only get-rich-quick scheme that's guaranteed to work is the PLEX. Everything else falls into 2 categories:

1. Slow and steady:
- mining
- missions
- exploration
- trade
- manufacturing

2. Maybe you get lucky, but not guaranteed:
- corp theft
- scams
- suicide ganking a rich target

The slow-and-steady methods are, of course, affected by the security level, with highsec being super-crowded and not very rewarding. As you've noticed, trade profits depend on the amount of money that you have for investing, so actually trade can be less profitable than the other slow-and-steady methods at first. Mining and missions, for example, give a steady x million / hour, regardless of how much money you already have.

The get lucky schemes are very unlikely to work, too, as the game is more than 10 years old and we don't trust anyone by now.

If you don't want to pay $20 for a PLEX, that's reasonable, but keep in mind that the money grind (and eventual boredom of having to do it) is what drives a lot of people to quit the game after a month or two.

My first question to you would be what do you need the isk for?

My second question to you would be what do you like doing?

In Eve you can make isk doing pretty much anything so you don't figure out what is the best way to make isk. You figure out what you like doing then find ways to increase your efficiency at doing that thing that you enjoy.

If you need isk to PvP now then the other posters that say buy a PLEX are correct. If you want to earn isk just for the sake of saying that you did it then don't focus on earning the isk. Focus on learning more about what you are enjoying in game.

So play the game more and find your playstyle. Then come back here and tell us "I like doing X,Y and Z can you tell me how to make better isk doing that?". Then those of us with experience at X,Y and Z can offer advice.

Not saying there aren't some well engineered scams, corporate thefts and such but it was more of a generalized observation of the sort of thing the average player is likely to come across but yeah, I'm a greenhorn still.

Yes, I've read about these and I've seen people spamming Jita saying give me 50m ISK and you can pick a prize out of box that's guaranteed to be worth more thant 50m., etc.

What I can't understand is how anyone can fall for this sort of thing unless he/she is perhaps very young.

The schemes where a person gains his friends' confidence over a period of time and then screws them are understandable.

I guess EVE doesn't have a court system where you can sue the scammers? Big smile

Or do you just hire someone to break his digital legs?

I see this said a lot, both here and in real life, but I don't think it's true for everyone.

I don't see why wanting to excel in PVP, or exploring, or whatever is any more laudable than wanting to amass ISK just because.

Hire someone, form a coalition. Tears only draw crowds and not sympathy in eve.

Scams, like isk doubling appeal to people that think they can beat the system. It's no different than normal gambling. Sooner or later the house wins, so can you get in, get paid, and get out before the house wins?

Personally I trade for isk, but I started by courier contracts. Like the others said, don't make collecting x amount of isk by y date a goal.

Go find something that you enjoy, chances are it can be used to make isk. Having fun is the priority in a game, not making virtual money.
