I staff for a series of conventions that take place annually in Detroit Michigan, namely Youmacon and the Midwest Media Expo.

I enjoyed hosting a similar panel earlier this year and I'm giving it another go.

The panel will take place on Saturday, October 31st at 7:30PM on the 5th floor of the Renaissance Center, Panel Room #2 (Joliette)

Youmacon runs from October 29th to November 1st (Halloween weekend) at the Renaissance Center and the COBO Center.

EVE Online - So What’s Yr Meta?

EVE Online: A space faring MMORPG that makes infamous headlines for its heists, permitted 'griefing', and an epic battle resulting in IRL loss of $330,000. Panel will introduce the game and its particular culture(s), then moving on to local players trying to put a face to their corp mates, rivals, and frenemies. (or not, as paper bags will likely be provided upon request.) Finally ‘The Meta’ will be discussed: that habit of EVE players applying their game experience to their everyday life outside the game.

If you're local to the Detroit area or even Windsor, Canada! please pass word along about this event. I primarily host these panels because I want to meet and to get to know players IRL within this region.
