Hi all,

Singularity is now updated to include features for the Galatea release. This thread is for general feedback, so please use feature-specific threads linked below where applicable.

Bear in mind that we are in the midst of Icelandic holiday season at the moment, so many of the developers are "AFK" Lol

Features:
Please note that features will come in over time and that the list does not necessarily comprise the entire content of the release.

Team Trilambda

  • The Dominix has been redesigned with a complete visual overhaul, new warp animation, and better implementation of the latest materials and shaders.
  • The "Look At" camera has been modified to linger on an exploding target before returning to the active ship.
  • Effects for combat and support modules (including Doomsday Weapons, Warp Scramblers, Scanners, Salvagers, and Tractor Beams) have been visually updated.

Team Space Glitter

  • Updates to behavior NPCs (Drifters and Amarr Navy) for NPC vs NPC combat
  • Defense of the Throne Worlds incursion

Nope, they got pushed back again. Without notice, but the Update Site got ... updated to reflect the new scheduled release date of that change https://updates.eveonline.com/date/2015-09-29/

Does this mean the entire release has been postponed a month, or just the fleet warp changes?

    Really? Read the updates.eveonline.com site

But in short - fleet warp changes are in September (they have been pushed back for a total of 2 major patches)

Currently this patch looks very thin - only graphic items.

Some sort of picture in picture option would be great. In PvP I dont have time to enable the 'look at camera' just as a target is about to die. (cause im busy going after the next target and trying not to die)

but it would be cool to have a small window you could enable that would always focus on what you are shooting at.. and have the same linger on destruction effect. Would give alot of F1 players in big fleet fights more satisfaction as well if they can see their target being hit.

plus a whole new set of incursions, pretty sure that would have passed as an old six month release. personally I don't really mind the summer holiday patch being a little light, as long as it doesn't become a habit. Also I wouldn't be surprised to see a few new things added like the Module Tiericide – Shield Rechargers and Others https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=430617&find=unread

At the time I made my post, there was only the graphic changes listed.

Though seeing the new thrown world incursion looks nice.

And I am sure there will be more - just saying it was thin at that time.
CCP has yet to really disappoint me on a whole patch.

Now to see if I can get SISI to work again.

It's not just that. As long as those two cameras can be synched, we could see where our ships are faced relatively to each other, will help in duels quite a bit.

When can we get matching explosions to go along with the new kill cam?
+1 to the PIP idea for target ships.

    1) Brief poof of explosion still gives no sense of scale, explosion camera is a great idea but needs better explosions.

    2) Can't even see new warp scramble effect at range, and zoomed in it looks awfully thin. still no real distinguished visual between scram and point, this seems like wasted effort (and looks worse, honestly)

    3) New rag and gallente dd's are neat. Lev and Avatar, kinda just side-provements (re: meh)

    4) New Domi is pretty slick, I like. However, the larger (flatter) surfaces don't do much for scale. Honestly it looks more like a toy now. A cool looking toy, mind you.

    5) I didn't see new apparel in store?

I wonder if CCP's perception of "enhanced" really means an incoherent fluid state of quality decrease and increase as well as making things in fact worse than they were before.

As stated in my previous thread, the new armor rep effect is horrible. At close range, it's fainter and less vibrant than the existing version, at long range you cannot even see the effect at all unless you pay very close attention to the minute color fluctuations. The same problem occurs for the Shield Transfers.

The target painter is too bright on the target itself. It looks more like an offensive laser impact than a support module marking a target.

Remote Sensor Boosters are not visible at all. It is already difficult to see when a ship is remote sensor boosted on TQ, but with the effective removal of the effect, you made it nearly impossible. Even at a range of 5km from a target, a distance where the RAR and RSB at least showed up graphically, I could not see the module effect clearly. I also cannot see any effect of Tracking Disruptors and similar modules and can confirm the lack of any effect for Warp Disruptors and Warp Scramblers. They sound nice, but most people have sound turned off or this kind of minute sound goes under in the cacophony of other, more important sounds like weapons or alarms.

And then there are the NOS. I do not know what you did before you took care of that effect, but it looks great. Very NOS-like and neat to watch. Whatever you did right before you changed that effect, please repeat it for the RAR, RSB, RSebo and others.

    UI Improvement Collective

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.
