I'd like to have a key too, but the devs are quite attached to their UI look and feel and don't modify it much.

No, that is not allowed and will get you banned. No easy-mode available.

what *I* would like to see with Dscan is some kind of visual representation of the scan cone overlaid onscreen when the dscan window is open and selected, much like it is with the tactical overlay. that way, we at least have a better idea of exactly where we are scanning - having to guess the angle of coverage is a huge pain in the butt. a hotkey would be nice, but lack of it isnt anything more than a minor annoyance to me.

Press F11 and you sort of get this, 2 D only, but it's perfectly functional and very useful.

Grrr.

Of course you are right in theory. It's inconceivable that 23,000 years in the future we could have invented cloning and warp drives, but not a device to automatically d-scan every 10 seconds.

However, CCP has to balance "realism" with the effects on gameplay. An automated warning of approaching ships - which is effectively what it would be - would just make some things too easy.

Sure, there are way of getting round it, but please don't.

For me its okey its okey if we have not automatical "radar" mean auto d-scan but could we have be able to bind key for it in game settings that was be more fair. u can active modules in any window u have active but for use keyboard for scan on d-scan u need active it

Having a keybind for it would make it easier for people to do the naughty things we aren't talking about in order to automate it. Of course, you can argue that people determined to be naughty know how to automate a mouse click and will do it anyway, but I guess the CCP logic is that they are then being clearly and bannably naughty.

TL;DR
We just have to live with it.
