Awesome!! This is exciting stuff!!

Please spawn 2 or 3 arenas in S-U8A4 on SISI, it's where the Test Open Practices are held!

So... About the MWD sig bonus on a AB bonused ship...

The Hictor looks nice though.

Edit: Any chance the Cup can be an indestructible anchorable beacon structure?

Should be switched to something like 10% web range per level or something unique like the Fiend gets.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

These ships look... interesting :)

From my perspective (looking at just bonuses and few base stats), they won't see much actual use in both TQ and AT meta (apart from just for the swag) and will collect dust in hangars of collectioners.

Frigate:
Propulsion-wise it's very flexible: mwd only for kiting with beams (for which it has tracking bonus) and increased point range, ab only for midrange (or scram range) kiting or maybe some 10mn ab fits (idk how agile it would be in this case), or dual-prop (quickly getting something with MWD and getting out with AB if things go wrong).

So, for AT meta i doubt it will be of much use because for a fast ship with weak tank it lacks one of:
1) projection with decent damage (ability to hit past ~60km like confessor or LML ships with 200-300 dps)
2) sabre-like capabilities (mild tank and good damage) - it has only 5 effective turrets, so damage will be on par to crusader (crusader is usually able to fit heat sink + 2 damage rigs, this should normally do 2 heat sinks i assume), it's less than 300 laser (damage type-locked cap-dependent damage). Nosfs can remedy cap dependence but turrets will go down once a while under neut pressure. Also for this role its tank is bad, especially if it doesn't want to get owned by LR neuts (like sentinel) and uses cap injector. After all that it has 1 mid left for tank (MSE) and has to use 2 EM rigs to get less-than-AF grade resists in full fit.
3) Tackling capabilities - just lacks survivability w/o resist bonus and with relatively bad base resist profile (EM hole, being non-minmatar)

For TQ meta such ships are usually effective as kiting platforms or something which survives quite a few hits and can GTFO (10mn ab cambions), otherwise chances to get outnumbered and killed skyrocket. I think it fails at both these points due to lack of projection and tank. With cloak and 0 recalibration (like chremoas) it might look interesting though.

Cruiser:
Phantasm-based HIC with resist bonus.

For AT meta i'd say phantasm is not a great hull to start with, so resist bonus and HIC-class t2 resists are unlikely to make it much more attractive, maybe as heavy tackler with some damage (7.5 effective turrets vs devoter's 6.25) which it can deliver mostly to target it's tackling (or use beams for some projection at cost of dps loss). Slightly faster than phantasm so might be good (up to 1.8km/s using AT-limited fit with links). 1 low slot less thus with nano phantasm can be slightly faster, and i didn't see many phantasms in tournament :P can have 2 medium neuts/nosfs though, if it has enough resources to fit them ofc. Moa uses MWD but it can take same role - sure it will be less efficient, but it costs much less both ISK- and point-wise.

For TQ meta you usually want cruisers to kite to make sure your expensive toy doesn't die superfast to a 4x web trap fit with cyno, and for it it lacks projection/damage. As HIC it might be interesting with covops cloak (maybe with 0 recalibration), otherwise i think tackling even 120 bil ship in 120 bil ship (which cannot be repped up while doing so) can go bad quite fast.

All-in-all, to me they look much weaker than at12 prizes, and are on par with them if you consider AT13's t1 drone rule (1.45x times dps loss compared to augmented).

Now how would i do it:

For TQ meta, all prize ships will have ~0 impact anyway, so i will consider mostly AT meta.

Lasers are quite vulnerable platform by itself (TDs, neuts, inflexible damage type over the top cripple them), so i would make them oldstyle combat uniques which are on par with t2 laser combat classes, but are scrambler-immune. Alternative idea would be to make them web-resistant. I would not try to add any other roles apart from damage mitigation and laser-delivered damage - because sansha are known for these two. Amarr ones were neut- specialized (with minor laser/missile effects as a cherry on the top), blood are ought to be nosf/web specialized, so this is our only chance to get laser AT ships.

Frigate:
Shield crusader whose speed is ~4-5 km/s with just AB and RD link and one speed mod in low. Might also give it a bit more damage - around 6-6.5 effective guns (350 dps using conflags with 2 heat sinks and 2 damage implants). It will have to stop to deal that damage anyway. When it commits, it might be webbed and focused by frigs/RLML (due to its relatively weak tank - DC+MSE) or neuted from afar to make sure it stops. With beams w/o range bonus (~30km) it will be **** anyway thus beams do not worth consideration.

Cruiser:
Shield zealot - 2-2.3 km/s with AB + links, good projection, good damage (8-8.5 effective turrets). Anti-support ship which is hard to stop, thus it might justify bringing it into AT (unlike regular zealots, which are too expensive and are quite vulnerable for tools often used in AT - see laser flaws above).

Both must have really good cap (preferably not cap amount like vangels/malices, but super fast regen) to cover yet another weakness of lasers, or just huge laser cap consumption bonus.

Another idea is to make both good brawlers, and instead of giving them increased AB speed bonus (but keeping sansha's 20%/lvl) you might've gave them web resistance bonus (like, negating 25-33-50% of web velocity reduction effect) which also might be cool and feel like sansha-inspired bonus.

It's always bigger risk to have AT ships which do hard commitment to a fight (because if logi gets disabled one way or another - you're losing 100+ bil each 10-20-30 seconds), thus making these much more powerful (but still less powerful than top-tier uniques) shouldn't be huge problem, from my perspective.

With Alliance Tournament XII, we introduced a new prize structure that had several goals:
To provide strong and unique rewards that match the epic levels of passion, training and mastery displayed by our competitors
To ensure that teams feel they have a good chance of being rewarded if they put in the effort to field a competitive team

Trying to not be offended.

EDIT: Missing a pretty big opportunity if you don't give Imp an entosis link bonus (range, ability to warp off, reduced cycle time, etc). Make it a true trollceptor.

The section noting the point value change to BC's is rather.... Obscure...

It is very easy for a person to miss that fairly significant rules change.

Please:

♦ Make a stickied Dev Post in the AT Forum Section, perhaps outlining the current point values and full rules set within the first forum post, rather than as links to outdated blogs.

♦ Correct the point values provided in the "Signing up for the AT" Blog!

Agreed, changes to the tournament rules should be flagged up a lot more clearly than this.

Agreed with Kadesh RE their power.

Prize ships in the past have been coherent, synergistic and strong. These ships are none of these, regardless how you try to market them.

Giving a medal to each active member in the alliance is questionable. Why would a player want someone else's achievement permanently in their profile? I've got a character in an alliance that will be competing this year and I'm contemplating dropping corp for day 1 of the alliance tournament to avoid the medal.

Besides, these medals should be rare. They should stand out as an outstanding achievement when you see them on someone's profile. They lose their value when all 3,000 people in an alliance get them.

If you'd like to reward medals to non-competitors that played a role in the tournament allow the tournament competitors to select a limited amount of alliance mates to also receive medals.

edit - Alliance medals were apparently a thing last year too? Oops. I still stand by my point though.

There will be some amusing incidents on day one for sure. :)

But seriously, this should have been updated in the rules before the dev blog came out and you should link to the actual Rules-page rather than the announcement blog.

Arena beacons always appear in a set place in the system right? So not possible to script something that effectively does this in every system on Sisi?
