Hi,

Unfortunately the launcher version v.2.2.883045 on Singularity contained a bug, which broke the self-update feature.

To update to a new version you will unfortunately need to reinstall a new launcher version, or you can make a new copy from the TQ client.

Just to clarify, if we did not update to the broken version, and update now, it will update as normal and not break - right?

I think it breaks... i haven't been on SISI for 2-3 days, tried it this morning and it was not working...

I did the launcher reinstall (takes 30 seconds on Windows) and now it works great.

Been around since the beginning.

If you did not update to 883045 then you *should* be fine, as far as I can see. If the launcher gets stuck at trying to download the update, then you will need to do the manual installation / revert to TQ.

d0cTeR9: Today morning it updated automatically to 883045.

Could we also use the Repair.exe to get rid of the broken launcher?

New launcher works great, thanks. A note...it seems to try and use TQ when the launcher runs after patching. I had to close and open the launcher with my singularity shortcut to switch it back.

This happens as far as I know, when running the launcher directly after installing - as in this case you are not starting through a shortcut.

Luckily it is now very fast to patch back to Sisi, even if you missed to close it in time, as the client is now as small with Download on Demand.

Last night I downloaded the launcher update using the link from above. I downloaded it to my SiSi install folder. I ran it from my SiSi install folder. Despite this, it wanted to update the launcher in the Tranquility install folder. I pointed it manually to the SiSi install folder.

After the installation finished and I launched it, it pointed to Tranquility and because it prompted me to 'do the resource cache migration' [the +13GB one] I cancelled out of it, but I didn't close the launcher immediately. I noticed that in the bottom progress bar, despite the cache migration being cancelled the message was 'extracting information from shared cache.' I let it run through. When I logged into the game, I found myself on Tranqility [because the launcher was still pointing there.] I noticed all my custom settings were gone.

First off, the intro video played. While the video is awesome, I had it disabled. Once I was in, I noticed I lost the following settings:

- Graphics, sound and video options
- Custom NeoCom settings
- All in-game chat channels, except for local, alliance and corporation
- All overview settings

Instead of bashing the keyboard/monitor, as I was a tad ticked off, I decided to log off.

Today, I spent a considerable time mashing the keyboard and fixed both the Tranqility and SiSi launchers/installs [although Tranqility is now yelling at me that I'm running a pre-release version of the launcher, but I can live with that.] Don't ask me how I managed fix the problem[s] because there have been way too many steps involved and I haven't documented them.

I guess, a few things to end with:

1. I would really appreciate if the launcher update didn't mess up one or possibly both the Tranqility and SiSi installations in the future, every time there's a change to the code. It's very annoying and lately I spend more time fixing the installation than actually playing the game.
2. It may be worth investigating the possibility of server side storage of some settings, such as the overview, NeoCom, chat windows and so on. This would help people who have multiple computers and may not always play from the same location.

Works Great and Quick. Thanks.

For anyone who is confused.

1.) Download new launcher and install (Directed at Eve Singularity Folder, by default it is pointed at TQ Eve folder and I have no idea what will happen if you update that one).

2.) Create new shortcut on your desktop, right click, then properties.

3.) Target= \EVE\eve.exe" /server:Singularity

4.) Your good to go

Sigh. No wonder I haven't been getting the updates/patches to download to Sisi for the last week of attempts. Launcher to Sisi broken. Launcher to TQ breaking.

As Charlie Brown would say after missing the football or getting a kite stuck in a tree.... AUGH!

I have followed all instructions, and am unable to join the Singularity server as it always states that I have the wrong info:

Invalid username / password
Incorrect character name entered

What or if is there a time frame when characters are copied over to this server to be able to use them.

If so when? so that i do not waste your time in asking again.

Kind regards
