Is it possible to aquire pirate faction BPO's?

i've never seen one for sale.

They don't exist, and likely never will, though I seem to recall a bug a few years back where there were Cynabal BPO's or something because of a bug? Am I imagining that?

Your not imagining it, for a short while Cynabal BPOs dropped instead of BPCs but that was caught very soon and any BPOs converted to BPCs.

OP the only source of Faction ships is either loyalty stores or dropped BPCs, I can't imagine that situation will ever change.

Technically the BPO exist (in the database), because the BPC exist, but the BPO are not available to players.

Sorry, my OCD compels me to be pedantic sometimes.
