If you have missed Fanfest 2015 with its mind-blowing fun, huge amounts of information, excitement, and all sort of good stuff, then don't despair ... there is more!

  • Fanfest 2016 has been announced to be from April 21 to 23, 2016, and you can order tickets via Eventbrite already! For those who want to purchase Fanfest tickets with PLEX (yes, that will be still possible) we will have more information later.

  • EVE Vegas is the the biggest player gathering next to Fanfest. EVE Vegas this year takes place from October 23 to 25. Purchase your ticket for this awesome event right away on the EVE Vegas Eventbrite site.

You mention that you'll be offering an option to buy tickets with PLEX.

Will the later option to buy with PLEX extend to the sisters of eve, pub crawl etc? Really hope so :)

Can you by chance ask Planet Hollywood to open up the block for EveVegas? I just attempted to book a room and they are showing no rooms available at our group rate (there were rooms available yesterday at our group rate).

Thanks!

I noticed that Eventbrite only accepts credit cards. While I understand these are very common in Iceland, there are many countries (for example the Netherlands) where credit card usage is rare and many people don't have them. Using eventbrite as your ticketing system seems like it would potentially exclude a lot of people or make it needlessly complicated for them to buy tickets to fanfest 2016. Eventbrite doesn't even offer Paypal as an option.

Do you guys have any plans to offer ebanking solutions like Paypal, iDeal, Sofort/Giropay and Mr Cash, or consider using a system that supports these in the future? From an enduser perspective, eventbrite is a major step back compared to the old system.

Am I right to say, the price has gone up by about 40-45% ? From 100 euro (109 dollar) to 150 dollar ? No Paypal option ? Where are the extra's ? Or is Fanfest 2016 without any other options this year ?

Edit : Found the reason of the increase. It's called **** you Europe ! (euro vs dollar)

My wife is also interested in the SoE event, which actually allows me to go to Iceland in the first place!
Does anyone know how much the previous tickets were in comparison to a standard FanFest ticket, just so I can judge an estimated cost?

The single day ticket for SoE was historically a little under 2x the cost of the FF ticket and only grants you access to the party on the Saturday night.

I just purchased my (first) FF ticket...so generally speaking, if our SO would like to come with during the pub crawl, lagoon, etc. we should just purchase another FF ticket? Or can we pay as needed, e.g. food and booze at pub, access to hot springs, etc.

I appreciate the advice.

I've been planning on going to Eve Vegas since last year. Unfortunately I was busy this weekend and didn't realize tickets went on sale during fanfest. 48 hours on sale and there is already ZERO BENEFIT over buying at the damn gate.....Seriously? It's 8 months out and you're telling me that i'm basically going to pay the same price as someone who buys the week off...... This is the largest money grab i've ever seen CCP.

I see the special 'early bird' ticket price this time around is 25% more expensive than last time. Interesting.

PLUS A TRANSACTION FEE... Shocked

Not sure about the money grab aspect but was a little aggravated to see that the least exorbitantly priced tickets all sold out before I had a chance to purchase.

I guess I'll be waiting until tickets on on sale for Eve Vegas 2016, rip

As a fellow Dutchie i have to agree here.
I have been struggling in iceland with having no creditcard.

Was very happy that CCP's payment system was IDeal (preffered for me) and paypal capable.

This is indeed a step back.
And probably not for Dutch ppl only

Really? I have found that every payment terminal accepts Maestro cards (the system Dutch debit cards are based on) just fine. You don't actually need a credit card there.

*Sigh*

So we're now selling tickets a year in advance. I'll tell you, as a fan that would dearly love to come to Fanfest, this is the most disconcerting thing you've done so far. It is very difficult to plan a year in advance for an event like this, and the tickets will likely be sold out long before many people can be sure they can attend.

But if the venue is full, then I guess it doesn't matter to CCP if the ones that aren't attending are the ones that have to make solid plans before they can commit to the ticket.

FanFest didn't sell out this year or last year as far as I know. I'm pretty sure there were 'early bird' tickets sold immediately after FanFest last year too.
