Seeking new motherboard

Good evening all,

I recently upgraded my graphics cards from 2x EVGA GTX 680s to 3x EVGA GTX 980s.

During installation, I noticed that one of the motherboard's PCI-e lanes doesn't work which basically means I'm stuck with a new graphics card that is essentially a paperweight until I get it into a working slot.

I liquid cool the whole rig and connect all 3 of the graphics cards via a parallel flow water bridge, so regardless of where I move the graphics cards, there will always be at one card in the non-working slot.

I would absolutely appreciate any and all feedback and recommendations for motherboard purchases.

Some of the things I am looking for:

Intel LGA 2011 socket for an i7 3930k CPU
Operates at least 16GB DDR3 RAM
Easy to overclock
Larger size motherboard (ATX)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Ummm, you know that the i7 3930k is LGA 2011 and not LGA 1150 right?

Errr, yes... bit of a typo I believe. The LGA 2011 is correct - sorry, I was also browsing potentially buying a new CPU as well.

This is what I have in my 1-2 year old PC. MAKE SURE to check the RAM compatibility since the RIVE quite picky. Since they no longer sell that exact one:

Easy to overclock? RIVE series are tweaker boards. VERY easy to work with.

Just make sure you don't have too big of a heat sink or you may run into issues fitting your ram in... There are only 4 PCIE slots large enough for graphics cards for the black edition so you may have to choose another mobo depending on if you have any other stuff that needs large PCIE slots. Can you tell me what price range you're looking for?

(apologies for the fast shitpost but I'm doing hw)

Ninjaedit: I have no experience with liquid cooling so idk if you can use this.
Derp edit 2: It is an extended ATX form factor.

I appreciate the post Ivan - I was considering the EVGA X79 Dark motherboard, but it would mean that I would have to replace my RAM... which just adds to my expenses to the point where I might as well consider just upgrading the CPU, motherboard, and RAM altogether. The Dark is just about $350, which is a bit more than I'd like to spend.

I like the ASUS series boards, and I have been using the RoG boards, but they also tend to be a bit expensive.
