Manufacturing with a pos NRP or Strip Miners?

Ok so people of the verse', I have a question for you: Which of the following would be most profitable/efficient/feasible?

1) setup pos in wh with high sec static and manufacture
1a) strip miner I (haul in materials)
1b) nanite repair paste (haul in materials)
1b.1) nanite repair paste (harvest materials right there w/ planets)
2) Have an indy corp (my own) mine ore/ice in a high sec island and buy from the miners at 90% jita, compress, haul, sell for profit.
2a) also manufacture either NRP or strip miners.
3) Do reactions in a wh with high sec static (haul in gases)
Either way I plan to have a pos do my manufacturing, a small pos. Also assume that my goal is to have 3 BP's running 22/7 (2h accounting for possible hiccups in production). I am currently training for Deep Space Transport ships (18d away) and my freighter skills i am at 14d away.

We are going to assume i have 1b isk in wallet and a 7+ day old corp w/ access to a wh w/ high sec static. The plan is to sell the goods i make at jita buy orders.

so, good people of EVE, which do i choose?

Option 2.

Easily.

ok so 2) is best, but should i also do 2a)?
and for that matter would a deep space transport suffice for transporting all that ore into jita?

Oh gawd. You cant even buy a freighter for 1b and thats inb4 you lose one. Are you sure if you can move it to Jita safely?
Is it Solitude?

And you dont really want to post all this info here on forum with your main. There are bad people of EVE too, I mean really really vile sons of female dogs(like Goons).

no i can't buy a freighter right now which is why i'm mining to get more isk. I am sure i can move it to jita safely if it's in a wh with high sec static, although getting into the wh is tricky (hence the DST)

Flying a freighter is a bad idea.

I don't fly DSTs (I'm too impatient, so I use a blockade runner). I expect it'd do fairly well, as would a Miasmos (or a Kyros if you refine your ores).

I would suggest that you get very, very comfortable with spreadsheets and work it out yourself. What's best today (eve assuming someone will tell you) is not necessarily best tomorrrow

3 BPs running 22/7, are you going to be able to cover the fuel costs of the POS? Are you going to be able to sell everything you make without crashing the market? What happens when someone blows the POS up (small in a wh, that's more likely a when than an if)

fuel costs definetly. I intend to cover for fuel by doing PI. I think i've decided to simply do reactions and cover fuel costs with PI

That's no more covering the fuel cost than mining asteroids is free minerals.

Can you cover the fuel cost from the mineral bonus, time reduction and lack of NPC tax (or stuff that needs a POS like reactions/moon mining/T3)? If not, then it'll be more profitable to sell the PI, manufacture in station and not run the tower at all.

For what it is worth, I use a Bustard for all my mining hauling (Orca to station), and for high-risk small stuff that fits.

Deep Space Transports were buffed. They are not nearly as slow as they used to be, but of course a Blockade Runner is closer to an Interceptor for warp speed.

The Bustard sports a freighter-class buffer tank when not fitted with a MMJD. However, I have to hit a LOT of buttons to activate everything everytime I jump through a stargate. I've considered putting deadspace resist amplifiers on it, but want to keep it cheap, however, it is the only hauler I'd consider this reasonable.

EDIT: For what it is worth, I also own 2 Orca, 4 (or 5?) Charon, 2 Rhea, 5 Bustard, and 4 Crane. I've no complaints about Caldari Industrials.
[I know that the Orca isn't Caldari. I mentioned it as some use it strictly for hauling.]

All three of your options are poor choices I'm afraid mainly because it doesn't sound like you know what you are doing. On the first all those strip miners & nanite paste you are going to be manufacturing - who is going to buy them all ? On the third you are going to die very quickly especially with a small POS. The second choice holds some water but setting up on a high sec island holds little benefits to you. Far better to set up business near trade routes in contiguous high sec space. No need for you to own or use a Freighter either - leave haulage side of things to the buyer to sort out. Always compress your ore before sale - you got that bit right. Smile

While part 2 is the best plan you posted ... good luck convincing carebears to sell to you at 90% $LOCAL_HUB since they can haul it there themselves. Even if you're using that 10% margin to pay for the POS, provide wardec resources, cover other costs, etc. ... carebears only notice the "10% loss" you're offering them ...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

If he is doing it in a high sec island then the carebears aren't hauling it themselves(otherwise they wouldn't be carebears).

The hard part will be convincing carebears to join your group and travel to this highsec island. But there are dumb carebears out there who will do it if he is persuasive enough.

Note OP that if you doing this on a high sec island you are going to have to deal with logistics for your corp. Carebear miners aren't going to haul their mining gear through low sec.
