Dreads in hisec? No. Just no.

Just imagine the damage a dread could do if CONCORD were to be called in, before CONCORD had a chance to eliminate it. That would mean CONCORD would either have to start using Dreads, or they would have to increase the number of CONCORD ships.

You could simply buff CONCORD attack damage. just make CONCORD so OP that not even dreads could withstand them

Wondering if you play in the same high sec that I do?
You know the high sec where only the NPC control the space.
The high sec where players are free to go wherever they want and you cannot stop them without getting a visit from the local Concord out post.

Moving on just no way.
Because the nul alliances/corps can and do deal with rogue dreds does not mean that players in high sec could do the same.
And the answer is NO most high sec players/corps could not afford to build dreds to be able to counter other dreds.

In fact no to any combat capable cap ship in high sec unless ALL offensive systems are disabled and that includes remote reps and all combat boosting they might be able to do.

No ship under any circumstances survives concord. When they land on grid after a few seconds they target you and apply warp scrams, ecm, and instantly drain your capacitor and begin applying dps to you ship. For smaller ships the dps is sufficient to destroy it, but on larger ships, concord simply instagibs you after a few seconds of taking pot shots.

Anyhow, allowing dreads in high is something that you probably don't want if you're a highsec carebear. Its like getting modules on freighters. You say you want it, but you really don't. Carriers either. If you don't like marmite now, you're really not going to like jumping a gate to find slowcat archons and a webbing loki. If you're a small time miner, allowing the rorq into highsec probably wont help you either, as it provides about 20% better boosts than an orca and it fulfills the role of freighter at the same time, all while being considerably safer to use than a freighter or orca, and providing a much larger degree of safety to the miners it will support. For little guys, mineral prices will drop, and you'll be poorer as a result.

Dreads without carriers are you insane? You want to bring the highest DPS ship in the game into highsec but not allow the only thing that can provide enough RR (short of a large guardian wing) to effectively tank it.....

This seems to be a case of everyone wants to play like they live in null sec without having to do any of the activities required to live in null sec.

No, No, No leave highsec if you wanna fly such ships.

1. Capitals in hisec? To an extent. I have made a case for allowing them into 0.7 and below in order to take full advantage of their new ability to use gates to travel. This would allow them to bypass certain roadblocks along losec pipes (Sazilid in Aridia for example, which splits Aridia into a "Solitude/Genesis" half and a " Fountain/Khanid/Delve" half that requires a jump drive jump to transit) and access certain losec pockets without having to use a jump drive, while still keeping 0.8 and up capital free. (Incidentally, because of certain systems like Kaaptuenen and other regional border systems being 0.8+, capitals would not be able to travel along primary trade routes.) Yes, capitals would be largely immune to suicide ganking, but you'd still need freighters and other vulnerable haulers to move goods into, out of, or between major trade hubs because of security restrictions.

2. Cynos in hisec? No. If we allow capitals limited access to hisec, it's to facilitate gate travel, not hot drop on war targets or jump goods across hisec risk-free.

3. Siege and Triage in hisec? Heck no. If capitals get access to hisec, it's to skirt the edges of hisec and get past roadblocks in losec, not bring their full power to bear on hisec content.

4. Captials using hisec acceleration gates? Heck no. We don't need any bigger, badder mission runners.

5. Assigning fighters in hisec? Heck no. Again, transit, not combat.

6. Supercaps in hisec? Double Dog heck no!


EDIT: To clarify, this isn't something I am necessarily behind or even think should happen. It's just what I come up with when I follow the travel changes in Phoebe to their logical conclusions.
