Unusual harpy setup

Was playing around with a harpy setup after losing a solo setup to a blob, and so I thought to myself, "how can I make a harpy that's strong enough to stand up to a blob, but balanced enough to still put out good dps and do tackle?" After realizing that with the 12km range with null ammo loaded I don't actually need a web for a brawler setup, I made this monstrosity:

[Harpy]

Micro Auxiliary Power Core II
Micro Auxiliary Power Core II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Medium Shield Extender II
Medium Shield Extender II
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
1MN Afterburner II

Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II

Small Core Defense Field Extender II
Small Core Defense Field Extender II

It does a solid 300 dps which is nice, but most notable is its tank. It has a whopping 16k ehp, mostly from the the 5700 points of shield hp on its mainline defense with extremely good protection vs blasters and gallente drones (which is pretty much all I see fielded by galmil most of the time). I think that if you pushed things further with links it could be positively demonic in a braw, specifically in an fw complex vs something with blasters, kin rockets or hobs.

Thoughts? The tank is wonderful; I don't even have to run any fitting implants to fly it despite the tight fit.

You don't need a web for range, yes. But what will you do againts fast frigs? Scram kite or low orbit kite will ruin your day. Im pretty sure my slasher can take that fit of yours by time your random lucky hits destroys my tank, if you get any hits at all that is.

But in keeping up that ideea you can also try a passive regen vers instead of just massive buffer, like fit spr's in the lows and purgers ,also i think if you drop one extender and fit a web while also replacing ab with mwd you can then fend of kiters while also still be good against brawlers and scram kiters cause of , as u said , range+web

Thats just imo, but think of it like your a fat guy trying to chase after small fast dudes, cause tbh most peeps when they see a harpy they will expect high buffer high dps so they will stay away from you while chipping off the tank

Last but not least, from the 2+ years of fw experience i gathered i can safely say that there is not 1 fit on any ship that can handle any situation thrown at you , so , as per usual advice, you need to choose your fights smart and watch out for za blob

Just because i am blond does not make me stoopid !

If you are fighting several ships. Then guaranteed one of them will have a neut. if that's the case you may stand a chance of surviving. 2 or more ships neuting you means a slow death .

I know you want constructive critiscism, but my initial reaction is, "oh god, what is that!?"

My helpful hat goes on.

That simply won't work. It is incredibly niche. The Harpy is slow. Really damn slow. Without a web you are going to suffer, badly. That 300 dps is nice, on paper. In reality you'll never get close to applying it without a web. You could possibly outlast single targets, but in a brawl (assuming AB), when they realise they can't break you or that they're losing, they'll just leave and you'll literally be powerless to stop them. MWD kiters will just zip around well beyond your reach. That is a lossmail waiting to happen in FW space and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend you fly it.

This is an FC boat with about 6-10 other ships in fleet. It is NOT designed as a solo boat. probably should have mentioned that.

it's not a great idea to become the focal point of a fight if you're the FC. it's much easier to see the field and be able to focus on fleetmates and calling appropriate primaries when you're some distance off.

I'd prefer this fit, personally:

[Ishkur, Max Tank]

Damage Control II
Armor Explosive Hardener II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I

Upgraded 1MN Microwarpdrive I
J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor I
Micro Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Navy Cap Booster 200

[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]

Small Anti-Explosive Pump II
Small Anti-EM Pump II

Hobgoblin II x5

17k EHP, able to stay at a distance and quickly apply full damage to webbed targets. It has far less DPS than the Harpy, but unlike with the Harpy, being tackled or neuted or jammed won't stop your drone DPS.

Every time I see one of your fits old chap I always imagine you wearing a monocle and swirling in cigar smoke. It must be the voice.
