I've heard that you can scoop control tower weapon batteries once the control tower is destroyed, but I've never been able to do this. Is there some step that I'm missing before I can scoop them?

Right click, unanchor, scoop to cargo with a hauler. POS modules can't have anything inside them when you want to unanchor them, ie turrets can't have ammo in them. I am fairly certain that damaged pos mods have to be repped before you unachor them, or you could just kill them.

Ahh. The modules I had tried to scoop before were damaged. I'll try that in the future.

Thanks!

Remember a POS module will go into Incapacitated state after it recieves some hull damage. That means every incapacitated module has 0% armor left and 99.xx % hull. You will need to rep up both armor and hull before you can unanchor.

I'm mostly certain that the contents of a POS module are simply lost when it is unanchored. That's why it's always a gamble deciding whether to pop modules like labs or hangars or scoop them and sell them. Having good intel on the state of the POS before it went into reinforced is always helpful in that regard.
