If there is something already available that does this (which i am sure they must).

Ive developed an application in c# that will use your API to check new mails, the EveAI api says that read isRead function is not supported.

So the app I have written dowloads all the message ID's and stores them in an XML file, then after timed interval keeps checking, any messages not in the cached file are obviously new.. So the application then sends an email notification to me about the new messages. This works for multiple characters.

Before I continue working on the development (as it works for my needs), is there something already around for this or is this something people would be interested in? Our alliance contacts get notification every hour by email if they have received a new eve mail.

Thoughts appreciated, if there isn't anything available I will gladly release as open source. If there is, my Google skills are crap.
I use evemon to check character training etc but tends to slow our server down (not sure why), this also works as a light weight notification when skill training needsto be attended to.

I know that there are, because I used one as part of the gents signup mechinism, but I have no idea what or where it was.

I guess it might be useful as a notification system, but don't forget that you can manage your eve mails right here on evegate, which makes a full blown third party webmail client a bit redundant, although I wouldn't say no to a thunderbird plugin.

Mind you, I never read my evemails anyway, if only the API would let us make a program that automatically flagged them as read whenever they arrived Big smile
