I learned yesterday, Unlike all the snuff gifs, porn gifs, porn videos, and other such things, that we are not allowed to cuss in eve chat rooms.

Fine by me, I don't mind following the rules. I apologize.

The issue starts right here.

Have you done a character search for the n word variants?

Considering there is a search limit it appears, There are likely far more than this.

There are 477 characters with the word "f**k"

There are 23 corporations with the word "F**k"

There are 472 characters listed with the word "s**t"

There are 7 corporations listed with the word "s**t"

There are over 500 characters with "b**h" in their name.

There are again a numerous amount with "c*nt" in their name.

There are 130 characters with "a**hole" in their name.

There are 493 characters listed with "ni**a" in their name. RACIST! Examples "ni**ahate ni**ahate" (a real character in the character list! HOW RACIST!!!!) I'm offended!

Now I see many posts may be like "confirmed mad" or whatever and I say to you, WHY ARE YOU NOT MAD?


If you are going to slap one person for cussing while allowing the above offensive names with cuss words in them, Then you are being two ways about it and using the system to punish who you want to in a prejudicial way. Not even going to mention the cussing and racism that goes on in the chat rooms everyday. How about CCP just *** automatically over all cuss words like every other MMORPG does (confirmed this by downloading and installing a bunch of free mmo's then cussing in them)

Yes, I played WOW just so I could see if I could cuss in it. I was disappointed at being censored from simple sailor talk but I understand that WOW is a kids game.

This game is deprived, Scamming, Tear Collecting, Children should NOT be playing this game... Cuss words are nothing when you consider the behavior of a lot of people who play eve.

Cussing in fact is simply F**king adult. It's only a shame I have to censor myself like a teenager with **'s while people can have the same cuss words in their character names and corporation names and get away with it.

AND those who have racist epithets in their name/corp name.

Reporting offensive names? but if we start doing that, where will the political correctness end? Will CCP start forcing players to change their name because they ganked a miner, and the miner thinks their name is offensive because it causes him to remember severe anal trauma associated with the gank?

"apple" is offensive to much of the Cherokee people if you use it towards them in that way, The same way the n word is.... lol.

My point here is if CCP is going to punish people for it., warn them, or whatever.

Then it should be filtered out automatically.

well, yeah i have to agree, character naming rules are rarely enforced... the problem is if they do enforce them, they have about 10 years of backlog to go over.

and this is if we focus only on offensive names, if we try to impose some rules to maintain some immersion, the name changes would be sent to about 30% - 40% of eve players.

xXxHAXKILLAxXx is not a proper name, neither is "SPACETACOMASTER".

i guess the whole naming system needs a rework, i proposed a while ago to use CharacterIDs to identify people, and have names as something that you can change much more easily. just like we do IRL, where your name is somewhat important, but what really matters is your SSN.
a Title system would be cool too, the current one given by corps is pretty terrible.
