At 11█MAR██ by request of the Almatter CEO Wend█ █rika██, Project Aspire was initiated with the sole purpose of accurately measuring the reliability of the personality preservation Quotient scale and its practical applications. Our CCR mainframe determined via [REDACTED] that the scale was reliable in measuring personality deviations from the original source in cloned subjects with a 0.862 alpha reliability. The methodology for the scale can be found on ANNEX 01 in this Data File.

Abnormal deviation in ppQ was confirmed by the CCR after 11█MAR██ maintenance routine was concluded. Subject remained calm and unaware of these changes.

Another ppQ increase confirmed after the combat simulation, despite initial hypothesis. Subject has proved increasingly unwilling to continue testing as result. [REDACTED] have been administered to increase compliancy.

A lot of concerned capsuleers have reached out with their most common concern: how much of what makes "you" be "you" is passed along between cloning procedures?

I'm blessed to only once have gone through the procedure at the time of this writing, but as I listen to the tales of older capsuleers comparing their mental scars of the numerous times their cloned bodies were destroyed, and the equally numerous times they were reborn none worse for the wear from that ordeal, I can only struggle with dread at my current career choice. To me becoming a capsuleer for me wasn't much of a choice for me, but a necessity! To go out in the fickle of a candle flame or to glow with the intensity of a radioactive compound, continuously renewed with each half-life that goes by until the near end of time.

But am I still me? That is the question.

In the blooming field of Psychophysics, the contrasting of the inner works of a mind, its wetware and the biochemistry that makes it "tick", against the environmental stimuli that shapes it, is where I intend to find an answer.

I believe the whole information making you a certain person is transferred in full.
If you activate several clones of yourself, they all with you together will be absolute identical and indistinguishable (of course, it is prohibited by CONCORD and officials make whatever possible to prevent multiple clone activation, or your survival after the scan).

However, your running "instance" of consciousness is shut down when you die, thus your next clone will be not you, but rather your exact copy, that will continue your existence from the moment it stopped. Like you never died.

Interesting. What advantage would there be, if any, in applications involving infantry clones?

I certainly feel as though I have changed. I do not know if it is the change of circumstances and lifestyle or the long progression of dead clones I have left behind but I wonder sometimes who I have become.

The repercursions of this Report are simple.

There was an inicial drop in the personality preservation when the subject was first cloned. As predicted by our hypothesis. However, when contrasted with the Control reading, the ppQ revealed a stable increase to a near complete similarity with the Control, despite the number of times the individual was cloned.

My research indicated that, this was impossible. A cloned individual should in all probability, develop into a distinct individual, not become more similar to his source material. Project Aspire was the fifth on a series of studies in this matter and the second to include Mercenary clones. The reason for experimenting on Infantry was due to their "discardability" and the sprawling industry backing their creation. Budget wise, Project Aspire was but a fraction of early projects, including Project Inspire and Transpire, due to that fact alone. The applications these studies have to Combat technologies are non-existant.

The first study, Project Alma Matter, was conducted on myself, and I've conducted ppQ readings bi-weekly since becoming a capsuleer. Thus far, my personality has been perserved at a stable ~0.813 ppQ. For a sense of scale, a 0.650 ppQ is to be considered a perfect mind upload and 0.250 ppQ is considered a partial but still functional success.

Diana's comentary matches exactly what my initial hypothesis predicted. It matches the common knowledge of the current technological paradigm. But why am I getting these results? An increase in the scale reading over time doesn't make any sense!

I believe that there is something else at work here... I've began Project Circular Logic to research this anomalies further. Expect a redacted copy of the study within the next two weeks.
