thinking of crosstraining gunnery-missiles (for stealth bombers)

Hey fellas, I'm a Gallente-minmatar turret habuser. My gunnery support are pretty good (everything to IV, few at V). I always wanted to be able to fly a bomber decently so, do you suggest me to buy a second slot character and make a new-one for the porpouse? The point is that my plan for my main is t2 cruiser (minmatar+ishtar) and Gallente BS.
I feel that going to skill decent torpedo is gonna take at least a month, plus other stealth bomber requirements (painting and ****) another month.
Advices?

Edit. As we speak, can you show me witch are the missiles support skills needed for a bomber please?
Edit2. I would be part of bomber wing, no solo ****, so I guess I should need bombe deploy IV for voids.

My primary advice is:
Don't buy/ or train a second slot character for bombing.

Combat skills on your main, are always going to be useful and have a value. So it's not like you're hurting the character by cross training. You will in fact, improve that character by adding the bomber related skills to him. You might have most of them already.
Fitting related, cloak, cap related, etc.

Missile supports:
Get the *easy* skills to V and the longer skills to IV for now. 6 support skills aside from the actual launcher skill chain (3 skills to torps)

Oddly, the torp skill is only an x4 skill. Many pilots fit Arbalest launchers anyway, but taking the skill to V (then spec IV) would obviously be better for torp DPS.

As for bombs:
You need missile bombardment IV to open up the skill to mount the launcher. Most bomb runs entail a 'Launch/be aligned/warp off' tactic. Launcher 3 is probably good enough for 99% of your bomber missions.


A per/will remap will take you 23 days to train a racial frigate V, cov ops, all missile skills at III or IV, bomb launcher III.
Much less if you have the Frigate skill already,
Adjust for slow learning . Adjust for core skills.
Absolute worst training time is about 34 days, for the ship and launchers only.

If you don't have EveMon yet, get it! It's a great app for skill plans. ( have many, many, plans) You can make your own bomber plan and see exactly how long it will take with your current attributes and skills.
