Ok say I have a Domi with 3 x Large drone scope chips. Now before I went on a break optimal rigs did not give stacking penalties to omnis. Also EFT was bugged in a way that they actually DID show stacking penalties with omnis when they should not.

Example:

EFT Domi with 3 x Large drone scope chips IIs + 3 faction omnis=78km optimal with garde IIs.

Ingame Domi, samme fitting but 125km optimal with Garde IIs.


So my problem is this. The Omni calculations are also bugged ingame now as it turns out (values will not change no matter if omnis are on or off).

So what do I trust. Is EFT still bugged and will show shared stacking penalties for omnis and scope chips or have CCP actually added these penalties while I was away?

So I get that the new omnis meens a nerf to range but Id really like accurate numbers.

EFT was at one point updated to correctly show the stacking penalties not applying. It now shows them applying correctly, as this was part of the recent change.

Use EFT, as it is displaying everything correctly.

As for fitting strategy, a t2 scope chip gives a bigger bonus than a scripted omni, so the rigs can still offer significant benefit. t1 scope rigs are much less desirable.

Wait so u are saying that EFT changes made it show stacking penalties correctly? Not CCP? because according to Ingame statwindows it showed the stacking penalty between Rigs and omnis as nonexistant (this is before I went on a break).

Or are u saying that CCP made recent changes to upp the shared stacking penalty for rigs and omnis?

because if EFT is correct I just went from an optimal range (Gardes) of 129km to 69km

I'm saying that before, the rigs were not penalized on the same stack as omnis. You said that EFT did not display this correctly, and treated them as one stack. I said that at some point, EFT was fixed to correctly reflect this..

Then, recently, CCP changed omnis, and at the same time decided that all omnis and scope chips should be on the same stack. The current version of EFT correctly displays this.

Yeah ok. So this will be a range nerf and tracking buff (which is wierd from a pvp perspective). So I use the domi strictly for missions, and since I do missions in minmatar space I dont really care as I can use Bouncers to great effect at range. And maybe switch for garde instead of lights a bit earlier so get incoming frigs. All in all a buff in minmatar space and nerf for everything else (strictly pve)

as omnis are overwhelmingly used for their range bonuses, its effectively a huge nerf to both.

I was talking about L4 in minmatar space. Mostly use bouncers for range AND DPS. For shorter range and 3xmoni with tracking scripts will allow me to hit smaller **** even closer than before when Gardes are used.

When it comes to pvp the main issue have been tracking even at close ranges. These changes makes that even worse

When you change scripts when the target is 30km away your tracking is better than the previous patch.

Also sentries are battleship scale weapons and shouldn't track frigates well once they reach orbit - particularly no need given how nasty lights are from a ship with 50% damage bonus and likely to have DDAs as well, and the tendency for pvp dominixes to be able to fit neuts and thus turn prop mods off.
