Hello everyone

I made this alt for 1 purpose: Missions

Early goal: 1s and 2s with a dessie or cruiser

Mid term goal: 3s with a drake (maybe cross-train to gallante)

Long term goal: 4s solo and if possible make enough money in game to plex the account.

The only problem i have now is what skills to train and what to train first.

If there is already a topic with a decent skills list please link it here bcause i couldn't find one.

EDIT: What kind of attributes should i use first INT/MEM or PER/WILL and how long should i wait to remap?

P.S. I'm also thinking about going pvp is it better to make a new account or to use this character for it

First off: don't remap just yet, because the first batch of skills will be all over the place, and training those skills to III is a matter of hours.

Do the combat tutorials, the give you ships, modules and skillbooks.

Determine what ship you want to fly (starting with frigates), what weapon system goes with it and preferred method of tanking. For Caldari, this will probably be a Merlin with railguns or a Kestrel with light missiles and shield tanking. Go on the market for the skillbooks pertaining the above which you didn't get in the tutorials, read the descriptions and decide if you can afford them. If not, they can probably wait until later. But ultimately you'll want a T2 shield tank first, T2 guns/missiles when you think you need them.

If you're doing missions, you'll want to maximize your payout; this means the social, connections and security connections skills (for combat missions); these will affect your gain in standings, and payout in isk and lp.

Do a few lvl1 missions to get the feel for things, lvl2's will probably be around the corner soon enough.

Train destroyers up a few levels (you can use the same shield modules and weapons of choice on those; Cormorant with rails, Corax with light missiles.

You'd probably want to do the lvl1 SoE arc out of Arnon at this point (The Blood Stained Stars); 50 missions of travelling about and shooting stuff. If I am not mistaken, it will also throw the cruiser skillbook at you.

When you find that you'll be training a lot of skills to IV or even V as a pre-requisite to some other skill, you may want to consider remapping after training the social skills to IV (CHA as primary attribute). I'd recommend taking all points out of WIL, MEM and CHA and distribute them evenly across INT and PER.

...

You might to download the 3rd party apps called EVEMON to plan your skill training and EFT to theorycraft ship fits.

2nd Edit: I probably left some things out, but I am really getting tired and drunk right now and I am sure others will add stuff if need be. o/

Actually although the caldari route is kinda meh for pvp you could easily skill up for caracals and drakes which are still semi useful in pvp and very useful in low level pve.

Then when it comes to level 4s swapping to a raven might not be a bad thing.

Gotta say, if you are going to run L4s to plex your account - It's going to get real boring. If the alt is on a second account... you could just buy a plex to fund what you need?

In your first year you will need:

-Ships you want to fly
-navigation core skills
-engineering core skills
-armor/shield core skills depending on your chosen race
-weapon class and gun/missile support skills of your chosen race
-basic drone skills

The core skills are often those with the lowest rank (those that are trained the fastest). You will need them for every race and ship so the more of them you get done now, the better! They will be useful throughout your career and once done you never have to bother with them again.

Save your remaps, use a 29/29 intelligence/perception attribute map for your first year. This will allow you to train both ship/weapon And support skills at a very good rate. This will in turn allow you to get in the game right away instead of being grounded in a station cause you can't train certain skills because of SP-efficiency. Go do it now and ignore everyone else.

After a year, your core skills will be mostly done and you'll know what you want to specialize in. When your remap resets you can do your first fully specialized (32/26) remap. The remaps you saved now will come in handy later and will give you better SP-efficiency in the long term.

Off you go o/~~~

Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first.

If you plan for an alt you're most likely not new, so getting there fast is most important.

this pretty much covers it, but if u want to train only a mission alt, train cybernetics 5 asap, create a skillplan where u can run int/mem and perc/willpower. That way u will optimize your skilling time. Also if u think about cross training to gallente i would recomand to think about ishtar or Dominix.

Just putting that out there: Tippia's plan.
This is some great stuff, although it uses Gunnery. You can of course change the Gunnery with the equivalent Missile skills. :)

for a starter this is a rly good plan for an alt im not so sure, especially if u only use one account with dual training as u want to get to the final train asap to stop plexxing but its always the player decision on how to run

I just want to add that PLEXing an account from just doing missions is possible, but takes a lot of time. There are faster and more efficient ways to earn ISK. Personally, I found incursions more enjoyable (and faster isk) and there's always FW.

When you start getting fast at mission (using only 1 character) you'll see that you're putting back 60m-80m ISK an hour. You can get almost double that doing incursions, and then again double that doing FW.

Have a look at this thread here. It's a player in the same situation as you. I've written him a nice list of what to train. Since you are interested in Caldari as well, the same kind of applies to you.

You are of course free to train as you wish and make changes to it. :)
