Data dump: mapSolarSystems min and max?

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to read the mapSolarSystems table but I do not understand what the min and max values of the coordinates represent, why are they there? what are they used for?

I /believe/ they represent the entire solar system, not just the star at the center
