Well - I didn't, as I couldn't see any news item or thread on it in GD and I don't check Sisi that often...

So thanks for the info...

Ok, please explain what's the difference between a Tier 3 ship and a Tech 3 ship?
Also what Tier 3 ships are there?

Explain it like you would to a mentally challenged person, because I haven't got it yet.

And yes i saw them on Sisi. Smile

tier 3
BS: Rokh, Abbadon, Maelstrom, hyperion
you need level 3 of the relevant skill to fly them

not sure how the cruisers and frigs are divided

entirely different from T3, which are modular ships, currently cruiser hulls only.

Ships in tech 1 classes typically come in tiers. Tiers generally denote build costs, therefore price skill level required to pilot (I, II, III respectively.) and so far in sub-battleship classes with a few exceptions, raw HP and power.

A tier 1 battlecruiser would be a Brutix, a tier 2 battlecruiser would be a Myrmidon.

A tier 1 battleship would be an Armageddon, tier 2 an Apocalypse, tier 3 an Abaddon

And so on.

Tech 3 ships are an entirely different class of ships altogether.

They are tech 1 battelcruisers, simply another one.

Parallel current battleship tiers - gallente has the domi (the tier 1) the megathron (the tier 2) and the hyperion (the tier 3)

Thanks, so the "Tier 3" would suggest BS capabilities put into a BC hull in this case.

well, BS sized guns, on a BC sized hull. They won't have BS capabilities (seriously, they're glass cannons), but I'm sure they'll come in useful for going into W-space or as cheap(er) hulls for DPS in lowsec ventures, etc.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
