Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share that http://factionwarfare.com (FWC) went live earlier this week. We're hoping for this site to, over time, become a one-stop-shop resource for people involved/interested in Factional Warfare. Here are some of the things that we're already including, or will be hosting online soon:


  • A Warzone Control graph. Each of the factions is represented with icons denoting their tier. As of this writing it is easy to notice that the Caldari are at Tier 4, Gallente at T1, Amarr at T3, and Minmatar at T1. No more logging in just to check.
  • Just under the Warzone Control graph, we've embedded the factional warfare sovereignty map. This is updated, automatically, as often as the Verite Influence Map is. Its a nice visual display of the territory that each faction controls.
  • Intel Cams. Again, we're sticking with the "more information is..." theme. As of this writing factionwarfare.com staff has four Intel Cams in operation. Two are providing information for the Caldari Militia - specifically the Ichoriya Gate in Akidagi, and the Onnamon Gate in Kinaka. The other two provide real time intelligence for the Gallente - showcasing the Cal Mil staging station within Innia and the Heydieles gate in Old Man Star.
  • Very soon, we'll be hosting a video tutorial aimed at people considering FW for the first time, or FW noobs that don't have any idea what they're doing. We have a placeholder link entitled "FW Guide" already on the website, just to the left of the Intel Cams. We hope to have this up and view-able in the next week and a half.


In addition to the permanent features listed above, each on-staff contributor submits one or more articles every week. Here's an example schedule from one of our writers:

  • Monday - "This Week in FW", a recap of the previous week in factional warfare. Note that as a member of the Gallente Militia, this will be Gal/Cal Mil focused. The objective of this article is to be as factual as possible, and provide a framework for non-affiliated parties to keep themselves up to date.
  • Wednesday - "Why I Fight." I've long been interested in why people join alliances, corps, and militias. This will be a series of guest articles, submitted by influential parties from all four factions. Example here.
  • Thursday - "Video Spotlight", a showcase of quality EVE-related video material. While I'll be hunting and searching for things specifically FW related, expect to see awesome EVE videos regardless of their origin. Example here.
  • Friday - Editorial. Sometimes topics bridge factional warfare and other features. Sometimes opinions simply need to be stated. These are what Fridays are for.


We just began our launch week giveaways. The next occurs at 02:00 later today (about 4 hours from now), with more prizes being handed out tomorrow and Saturday. If you're interested in winning a Drake Navy Issue, Proteus, Tengu, or PLEX, take a look at the instructions here.

Ok, so the site is up for some time now, and as I generally like the concept of having FW news in one place, the layout is also very clear and nice, it seems a little dead. One article every few days is just not enough.
there was to be at least few articles weekly according to what you wrote, come on guys, the concept is nice, the design is perfect, make it more lively.

Agreed, I do visit daily but if this is to work it's got to have a little more content. Not to belittle the guys that have written so far mind you :)

Tier status?? You are never going to get a lot of attention if you don't publish this information, why would any join FW besides the LP fountain?

Currently I'm not even in FW, I'm moving now (in-game), but as soon as I'm settled, why not, I can write something from time to time. I have few ideas that I could try to put into motion, or you can do it now :)

1. There is a nice site with some FW stats that could be used also on the site, ppl generally love stats, do not know exactly how accurate they are, but they seem legit.

2. A known issue for all the new members of FW is also a problem of finding good PC corps in all militias, so maybe it could be a good Idea to do some profiles on the main players on each side (including few FAQ's to the CEO's, short interviews that they might answer, and basic info about the corps).

3. People also love heroes, so why not do some interviews with respected and well known FW pilots. Something along the lines of what Feyd Rautha Harkonnen is doing e.g. here:

I'm moving one of the gatecams I run to Amarr militia later today, so you will see daily updated tiers starting tomorrow as I'll check them as I set up the cams in the morning.

We are currently looking for another editor and more writers. It's proving difficult to find them so please get the word out. Our primary editor is currently very busy with real life and can't dedicate as much time as he was to writing articles and editing, and another one of our writers recently got a new job at his university which is taking up most of his time. If you have anything you'd like to see on the site, would like to contribute guest articles or start up your own column, please contact us at staff@factionwarfare.com.

I'm dedicated to getting this off the ground. It's been tried before and hasn't worked in the past, and I think right now the hardest thing is that being Caldari, all my contacts are on the Caldari side and I don't have solid leads for people to work with on all sides. Any help would be appreciated, let's make this the one stop shop for faction warfare guides and news that it deserves to be!
