So since CCP did not add any waste materials to the bastion module minerial compression is insane. Someone posted on reddit it is a 231:1 ratio compression.

Bastion module is 20m3 in size. An Anashar jump freighter cargo hold is 351,563M3, which means it can hold 17,578 bastion modules.

Total amount of minerals after reprocessing:

iso 87,890,000 - 11,074,140,000 isk
meg 1,757,800 - 2,680,645,000 isk
mex 52,7340,000 - 2,2675,620,000 isk
noc 17,578,000 - 11,601,480,000 isk
pye 1,318,350,000 - 15,029,190,000 isk
tri 6,152,300,000 - 29,100,379,000 isk
zyd 3,515,600 - 2,197,250,000 isk

94,358,704,000 isk worth of minerals with each jump freighter.

Enough for almost 1 and 1/2 titans.

If you compare this to using 425MM railgun I's you get

50m3 each, 7,031 units per jump freighter

iso 1,652,285 - 208,187,910 isk
meg 232,023 - 353,835,075 isk
mex 61,675,932 - 2,652,065,076 isk
noc 2,601,470 - 1,716,970,200 isk
pye 184,866,083 - 2,088,986,737 isk
tri 720,621,252 - 3,401,332,309 isk
zyd 1,335,966 - 834,978,750 isk

11,256,356,057 isk

lol when people use them for compression and CCP deploys a stealth nerf during downtime next week adding waste materials.

Given the fact that there was added very little quantitatively to the game, you'd expect CCP to have thought out every detail very well...
I guess this one remained under the radar.

Shouldn't be any particular hassle to hotfix in some extra materials.

So if I queue up 10,000 runs tonight they will surely hot fix it. If I don't, they'll probably leave it be for a few months.

Just until you finally decide to start using them.

Volume can just be changed from 20m3 to 400m3.

So doing the math from the numbers you provided you recieve compression ratios of
Trit: 17,500/m3
Iso: 250/m3
Meg: 5/m3
Mex: 1500/m3
Nox: 50/m3
Pye: 3750/m3
Zyd: 10/m3

from the look of it the bastion module has some great compression on some but not so great on others, just remember you need to suply what is needed, not just whatever you can get there the best.

Don't these modules have to be manufactured? I don't do manufacturing, but wouldn't producing 20,000 of these modules take like several years? Guns were great for compression because they dropped in missions so you could buy them in bulk off all the level 4 runners.

It would take ~90 days at PE 25 if you were silly enough to build them all on a single line.

Large guns are typically 50 cu m. It seems it would be the proper volume for the Bastion module. It would still be a good compressor, but at least that takes it down by a factor of 2.5.

and the meta 0 guns which are used for compression do not drop anymore. so they too are manufactured.

No one does (or should do) mineral compression using a single line. Most people have 1 or more dedicated toons for compression. 1 toon = 10 slots. Using a POS and implant it will take 276 seconds per job (10 jobs at a time). So it will take 134 hours or 5.6 days.

But if you're doing something like making a titan you will have more then one toon. If you have 5 dedicated toons you're looking at 1 day.

Bummer - it was good while it lasted. At least the new bastion modules have a better mix of minerals than railguns.

"The volume of the Bastion Module I has been increased to 200m3."

Thank you CCP for seeing this as a problem and fixing this!
