After crashing and laughing at human gate camps for days i jumped into an incursion system, before my ship could align i was targeted and tackled by a frig npc (Renyn Meten), i tried MJDing back to the gate but got exploded 5k from it. wtfx!! I was flying an untanked probe but would have expected to survive longer than 3 seconds since since i've successfully ran away from dictors while under fire before.

Anyway wasn't a very expensive loss but now i have to haul another damn ship there.. If i happen to jump into an incurion system again how would i make sure i dont get murdered?

Covops frigate is safe in that scenario, but bear in mind you may jump into a player camp that might be good enough to kill you regardless - in which case the probe is the cheaper lossmail.

Incursion rats are very OP, they make normal rats look like chumps (even WH ones). I friend on mine lost a Legion to them in Low Sec (Null sec ones are even worse) before he could burn to gate.

I would have though that you could have gotten through in a fast frig though. I have never had issues and can even get through with a Cruiser (AB+Cloak trick but with about 1-2 seconds of lockablity time on either side of the cloak).

PS, Renyn don't point. Must have been a different rat that pointed you.

You didn't happen to notice the Incursion bar during your ordeal? I only ask to point out that if the bar (Called, Constellation Control) is full red then your ship has considerably less shield, less armor, less firepower, and it might even affect manoeuvrability. Surviving an Sansha Incursion gate camp by 'burning back' in anything under a couple thousand EHP (2000 might do it, if your fast) is probably suicide. Warping to a belt will get you a moments respite but the belt are usually full of Incursion rats as well. Sun, planets and moons are the safe bet, but in Nul the moons could have an angry POS so warp to planet or Sun and then warp to 0 and jump the gate.

'Grinding the Bar' is what incursion runners call it, usually they double up on tank and logistics, to keep alive.

Edit; One more thing, I know you don't have drones in a cheap frig, but the Sansha rats will switch targets, so giving them something else to shoot can sometimes break the point and web.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

o god now we will also have nullbears starting how incursions need to be terminated because they made more effective gate camps than they had :P :P

The problem happens when you jump into a system with a Incursion, other than checking the journal for Incursion systems there is not other way to tell until you are in there.

Also , if you are pointed you cant warp off so anything but burning back to gate is impossible. (unless you are in a fleet big enough to kill the Sanshas.

PS, Sanshas very rarely switch to drones, they mostly shoot them if they are already deployed when they first agro (new wave ect).

nope... I've seen a few ships that warped into the wrong site without fleet and they got out after launching their drones and scramms like schmaeels switched over

If you react like this by losing a 600k ISK ship...then I really do not want to imagine how you would react when you would lose a 600M ship. Hope that it would not lead to Jita burn...

iirc there were 2 other rats there, a frig and a cruiser but i didn't have time to check who had the point all though renyn was on the kill mail and i think it was the only one targeting me
