Looking to solo level 5's

Hi, so I've been running level 4's for a while now and it's getting pretty easy in my tengu now my skills are at a decent level and also hi-sec is getting a bit boring. I'm looking to get into level 5's in low sec but all the information I can find seems to be really outdated and not knowing too much about the game I don't know what is still applicable.

I'm looking for a fit that will enable me to complete level 5's that includes a cloak which i'm currently training and passive tank. Also I feel like my skills are pretty good but I don't know if they are good enough yet so I'm looking for information on how good my skills have to be. I'm also going to look for information on how to survive in low sec but any info I could be given here would also be greatly appreciated, tips tricks and rules :)

Thanks.

Yeah.. Um no and no..

Most lvl fives can be done with a few ships but nearly none solo.. I believe there may be 4ish missions that a goo can tank.. but you will need other ships for dps.. Other then that they all have super crushing Dps and nuets that will kill any tank you can sport.

Most people that do them use a t2 rigged max skills rattlesnake or some other specific ships like a nighthawk and or t2 rigged hics all setup for passive shield regen. Domi circle tanks also work well but again you would need to move more then one ship threw lowsec. Judging by the fact that you are asking on the forums I can assume you have no lowsec friends other wise you would just ask them so yeah stay away from lvl fives you will just die like a newb.

When I used to run them I used a carrier and alot of alts.. I used to blitz missions and warp out.. There are quite a few missions that are able to kill a carrier if you run them wrong. I have actually seen someone almost loose a super in a lvl five mission due to a dc and being hung on something unable to warp.. Had to jump in a triage carrier to save it as it was under 20 percent armor...

So yeah dont take them lightly.. If your alone scrub dont waste the effort..

Ok thanks :) What would be the next logical step for my goals? I want to remain solo for the time being, while I train up my 2nd account for a good income stream. I'm just looking for more of a challenge than level 4's at the moment basically.

tbh I cant stress how much better Eve gets with some buds, having some fleet/corpmates will make EVe much more gratifying, as well as open up more doors.

If you insist on staying solo I would recomend WH space, with a little caution C3 sites can be both very challenging, yet still doable solo, and theyll make you better isk than LVL 4s.

I will do at some point I'm sure of that, I'm just a very spontaneous player so I might want to do 1 thing 1 minute and then change my mind 5 minutes later, of which I'm sure it would be very frustrating for others involved in activities, so going solo just seems to naturally suit the way I play games.

I'll definitely look into wormholes as it has been something I have wanted to get into for a while.

Thanks :)

Anyone who says you can't solo a lvl5 is a n00b, you need a raven or dominix (raven still better) and high faction standigns to pick the blitzble missions.

Warp at 100k and use your mjd, you spawn 200km from evil npc's. Snipe structures with furys or bs with faction scourge. cloak+mjd for safe lowsec travelling, asb for tanking the little damage you take and cap booster for increasing your cap when you need to mjd again (200km neuts). If you are doing lvl5's you dont grind the whole missions, you blitz it for the LP, its comparably better so don't argue with me.

You could always just choose your missions wisely.

Some missions can be completed with a T1 fit standard cruiser, (certainly an AF, possible even a T2 fit T1 frigate).

There are certainly a handful of missions that a solo tengu could easily take on, some missions that it certainly could not, and a bunch that would require good skills and good piloting.

Go to nullsec and start soloing plexes. Its more challenging, more dangerous, and the tengu is very good at it.

Yeah this tactic is legit, I've seen some guy doing exactly the same thing in lowsec a couple times.

blitz in a carrier, trying to do it another way is a waste of time most of the time. just do a quick google on how to blitz lvl5s in a carrier and you will get a ton of info on how to do it.

We don't talk about that...

You can solo{with alts}lvl 5's PVE. The PVP is the catch-22.

What pvp? Gl with tanking rats as soon as you land a point. Your bc or cruiser aint going to hold. So prepare a blob, o wait this aint nullsec

tbh, there is no point running lvl5's with a carrier. Most non-gated missions can be blitzed very easily, and a raven can put as much dps as a thanatos with t2 missiles and cheap implants than a sentry / fighter thanatos, plus the risk involved of :

a) Moving a carrier in lowsec
b) Using a carrier in lowsec

Travel time is a lot more than a bs, not worth the 10% or 15% extra DPS you might get, and the risk of being hunted. Most of the missions that are non-gated involve killing a structure only, so 100% of the dps from missiles is applied.

tl'dr, if you are not using a raven or blitzing the missions, you are doing terribly wrong.

With the new portable depot thing you can fit an MWD + cloak + nano/inertia stabs for travel and switch back to mjd for the mission. 5 more days till level 5 missions become popular again!! :) .

Use passive tengu and accept everything except minmatar and angel missions and youre just fine. It's not quick. But it is saveish

I do 2 a day on average for about 5 bill a month which is far to much to pay for my habbits tbh. about 1h a day. (170mil an hour approx.)

After rubicon it's even more easy. Bring a mobile and fit in space. No more needing to dock except to get mission.

There are quite a few ships that can run level 5's solo. A few which can are shield passive proteus with drone subs and autocannons (low dps but 3kish passive tank), Ishtar passive, passive vulture among others.

However if you can run L5's you may as well do what the gentlemen up higher said and do complexes in null... much more isk and you can fit your ships for decent dps.
