Hey guys - Pt.3 is up - just a little stupid trick if you are a kiter and warping into a lowsec plex that is already occupied (and you still want the fight)

Eve Online Solo PVP Basics # 3

As always, please give me some feedback as to what I am not explaining well enough, something u would like to see explained, etc. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps!

Eve Online Solo PVP Basics # 2 - Ship Management

Previous Videos in this series - Eve Online Solo PVP Basics: The Slingshot

I would appreciate feedback, suggestions, and critiques;

Was I about as understandable as a drunk welshmen?
Was the screen too dark?
Do you not understand what I am attempting to teach?
Was My zipper not closed?

etc.

Thanks ahead of time, and I hope this video helps you!

Nice work! I will definitely show my corpmates this one, as trying to explain the slingshot maneuver in words is rather difficult.

I think i would be easier to understand what you were talking about if there were some sort of words/diagrams on the screen. Just something to go along with your voice to make it more understandable.

Nice vid, very clear about what's being talked about.

Only thing that kind of made me chuckle: "I overheat my ancillary armor repair and it explodes"

And I hate you for showing all that expensive stuff in your hangar.

Outstanding material, thanks alot.

I suppose this helps the AB pilot Vs the MWD pilot alot!

What would be amazing though is a guide explaining how to safely engage someone whilst using a MWD kiting ship!
So a MWD pilot vs AB/MWD pilot.

This is something I've shyed away from since I know there is alot more to kiting than just setting orbit within point range and hitting modules as needed. And would have no clue wtf to do if I was flying a MWD ship vs another MWD.

I've also seen pvp vids of people piloting Arty Wolfs, just using the approach + Keep at range shortcuts, how do they know when to approach and then keep at range.

Do the webbing trick.

It's not exactly "basic" but a lot of people don't know how to do this right so you should do it.

For the people that don't know the webbing trick is where you have a frig orbiting your cruiser and up and you take off your web so they increase their velocity flying them outwards and you web them again so you can hit them for nearly full damage. Also if they have a bit wider of an orbit (say 5km) you can turn your web on and off repeatedly and for some reason the game decides when you're not webbed you should orbit in the opposite direction so they just end up moving close to 0 velocity.

"So lets say your in a cruiser/bc/bs and there is this annoying frigate with a ab and its under your guns, despite you webbing it so what to do to not die a emberassing death:

Note requires a web to work and it only works vs terrible (i.e 99.999% of eve ) people who use the orbit button once they caught a crusier/bc/bs.

So what to do? Due to how the orbit command works your ship basicely settles in a orbit that is the wider the faster your ship it, you can exploit that.
So you start the fight with a web on your opponent, (you should ideally have transversal speed on your overview) what you do now is you deactivate your guns and then a few seconds later your web, the ai of eve will now make the suddenly much faster frigate ajust to its new orbitting distance and fly straight away from you as fast as possible to get to the new range it needs to orbit, thus lowering transversal for a few seconds to 0.

So once transversal is low enough you activate your guns resulting in a perfect hit, this also works in the returning way, so if you activate the web again the frigate will approach you again to settle in the, induced by its now lower topspeed, smaller orbit, getting transversal to 0 again, if you now shoot again you will get a perfect hit off again, rinse and repeat till the frigate is dead.

Obviously doesnt work vs people who manually orbit. Two webs increase the effect."

(well, what gods saif)

Edit: I was just copy/pasting that.

Finding players that actually do it to you is super rare. The only time I've ever had the trick done to me was on the test server when I was orbiting some guy in a scythe fleet at 5km and he kept turning his web on and off and I got super mad. I just manually piloted though and all was good.

Have you thought about Kiting Lessons? It's very rare that I see someone that's actually able to kite properly these days.
