how do you check someones API Key?

Can anyone assist me plzX??

I am having trouble figuring out how to check someones API key. I have read a bunch about it, but im not as good at computer stuff as I think I am at EVE.

is there a place where you can just plug in someones API Key in order to do a background check on them? I have tried EVEmon, but either I'm a dummy or it just doesn't work.

I know the key that I got from a certain person is a full/account API, but I just cant seem to get the information like wallet/mails/contacts, etc. cant even get to where the stuff is supposed to be displayed.
