Not sure if this is the correct place to post (Dev/ISD please move it to the correct forum if I am wrong)

Was browsing the Japanese Eve main page when I saw this post .( http://community2.eveonline.com/ja/communication/news/2month_evelife_01 , http://eveonline.nexon.co.jp/campaign/challenge.aspx )

Apparently Nexon, for promotional purposes for Eve Online has set up a audition for a reality series for the selected person to experience eve online for 2 months. Said Audition can be watched at http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv140532500 (if you have premium nicovideo account).

The Selected candidate was announced today to be Ms Kazuha Asaki. (http://ameblo.jp/asakikazuha/ blog is here for those interested.)

It will be broken into two segments .
From the 11th of June to 10th July she will be blogging on her escapades as a new player in eve on a blog (http://asakikazuha.blog.fc2.com/)

From the 11th July onwards, she will be placed in a house , then what she gets for food would be based on her performance in eve eg isk making. This will be livestreamed on Nicovideo and Stickam for 12 hours daily till the 11th of August.

I really need to engage with the japanese community more...

I find this both horrifying and deeply amusing and i want in!

Edit, wait this is all being done in Gunma??? Thats an odd location.

Further edit.

The comment section is fantastic! the Japanese community moans the same as us!

This makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I particularly like the null ranting.

But there's more to eve than just making ISK?

I'd argue that just making ISK isn't experiencing EVE at all, but reality TV shows hardly make much sense to me anyway.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

Dont bring logic in this arguement. Your logic has no place here. This is about some of the sadder people watching a cute girl play video games.

I have a feeling this might turn into her trying to survive on 1万円 for a month.

Wow! That's a brilliant variation on the Japanese "torture and humiliate the contestants game show" theme. I hope the contestant doesn't starve for lack of ISK. But then again, Miss Seventeen Magazine 2004 might be brighter than she looks in her photo.
On second thought, she'll never starve. This is EVE-- she'll just scam billions of ISK. Loads of eager male players will happily give them to her.

I'll pod her any day. Why doesn't English speaking side of CCP do weird promos like this?

Can't wait untill when Eve online is Freemium. WiS only 10$, SP booster for one month 15$, DPS Boost 2$, EHP Boost 2$ Real money trading hub! Cosmeitic ship skins 15$ --> If you don't pay **for a product, you ARE the **product.

LOL, if they did, it would be one of us neckbeard/pencil-necked geeks that would be the contestant.

She's not going to starve, only the quality of food goes up or down.

For me this will be a nice social experiment to watch.

Judging by how she is blogging, I'm quite sure our Japanese counterparts are just as troll as she is frivolous. (Started asking which faction to choose, ended up saying any of them is fine) . Commentors are egging her to either Start a corp/ join a nullsec bloc .

I did enjoy reading that.

Can you imagine her as a fresh player joining a 0.0 null corp?

I imagine loads of horny basementdwellers will love this. Lol
How big is the Japanese community in EVE anyway? If my memory serves me right I remember seeing loads of people with names written in Kanji(?) in the newbie zones like a year ago, but have never seen anyone since.

LOL, me too, for some reason. Introduce some "player-created content" early on in the EVE career. Smile

I have a problem calling stuff like this, Big Brother, Survivor, and other shows reality, as they set things up that do not happen in reality.

Things like Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers.... although moderately imbelished and somewhat set up are what I consider reality.

I did really like early survivor. Very much like EVE I would say Lol
