Wormholes

I am posting this on this forum as a warning to all WH dwellers, since we are the only ones who will be using these most likely. Be careful with these SMAs. They are freaking huge in size. We have recently discovered an issue where the placement of your XL SMA can mean that they can be access from outside the shield.

We discovered this when someone tried to put an XLSMA in a medium pos. And we found that, in several places, you could hug the shields and board ships from the SMA without the pos password.

I am posting a thread in the issues workarounds section as well to let CCP know, but for all other WH groups be warned. Be careful where you put your XL SMAs.


Edit: It was pointed out my first post was wrong. So I will make is clear.

There is NO PLACE IN ANY POS that you can anchor these structures so that they CANT be accessed from outside the shield. There are only 8 positions and they are all accessible from outside the shields.

Because not all WHers are going to read that forum. I am posting this to warn the leadership of all the major groups so that they can test each SMA and lock them down if necessary to help prevent corp theft.

Yes. For instance, you cant come to my pos in my wormhole and steal ships out of my X-LSMA because you arent in my corp. But you could warp to a corp mates and still his ships.

As a joke I renamed my sma as domination control tower because it looks like it has a tower on the side of it. So when you see domination control tower, thats actually the SMA. SOme of the screenshots look like I am in the pos sheilds, that because I had to hug the shields to get this to work.

We were going to keep it to ourselves... then we realized that there is no way we could troll people with it because you need roles in the corp to steal from it. That would take spais which HK would never use since we are honorable space bros.

Well you are mostly wrong on two counts. One, it doesn't stick out of the shield on a large pos. The access range on it is just so big that you can access ships while outside the shield. Useful for corp thieves. And two, even if it did, you cant shoot pos mods that just barely stick out of your pos shields because the module itself is still inside the shield and therefore is still protected by it.

You MAY be able to bomb them... dunno havent tried and dont really want to with a 700m pos mod.
