hey everybody, just wanted to know if you fight the trolls and use the hide post button to ignore future comments from those specific characters, are you hardliners who stick to it or are you looking at the post as soon as you see that troll name popup at your threads?

I'm fighting the trolls already and stand against them ignoring their comments but still having a grin smile when i see those names pop up on my threads, are you fine not knowing what they might did tell you, or you fall in the habbit on pressing *show posts* maybe just to regret it right after that?

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I like to ignore people in plain sight. I've never once used an ignore feature on any site or game, anywhere.

I wish i could be that way, sometimes i have the feeling i ignore them to save them, so i do not say something really bad about their comments

I don't see the use in hiding individual replies to a topic. That's just fragmenting the conversation, and you'll end up reading those replies in quotes down the line, or just losing track of what is being discussed. It's like listening to one side of a phone call.

However, I do have a keyword-based script that blots out the absolute worst spam threads from the forum pages. It blanks out any topic title about fanfest, collector's edition, stuff like that.

I've never had a problem being disturbed by inevitable troll posts, they can often be amusing.

I suppose it depends on your definition of troll.

According to some a troll is anyone that disagree's with them. In that case (especially) blocking their posts is simply admitting you can't refute their point of view.

I can honestly say that it got to a point where I was just getting annoyed with certain idiots that would post the stupidest things and troll just to be asshats. Nothing I saw from them was constructive or useful in any way whatsoever, so I blocked them. It really cleaned up the threads by blocking about 3 people and made reading on these forums just that much easier.

So yes...I use this feature and am grateful for it.
