Hey, I'm sorry if this appears to be really noobish of me but I do need some help if not guidance. I have two different characters at the moment, this is my main and I have a separate account for my Alt. On this account I'm really focusing on mining/industry later. But on my secondary account I wanted to focus on PVP combat.

Here's how I want to make it with these two characters, since this will be my main for some time I'll be earning most of the money I'll have on this character through plex selling or otherwise (mining etc.). While I'm doing this I want to use the funds from this character to fund the second characters ships and skills, since the secondary character won't be used too much it'll pretty much be sitting there training skills 24/7.

Now, Mining and all is pretty easy to understand, there isn't too much involved with that and I can grasp that concept, but the combat is kinda just outside my grasp. I want to participate in PVP, and I'll be in a corp doing so, sometimes Solo, so I'm not sure how I should start down this path, what skills to learn more specifically and in what order. I'm not stupid enough to think that I can just me the pre-reqs of a ship, get in it, and be able to kill everything. If it were that simple I wouldn't have to ask lol.

TL;DR: New player, need help trying to skill towards combat, any help MUCH appreciated.

Well I s'pose the first thing that you need to decide is what aspect of combat you wish to specialize in?
Could be race specific. (Minmatar, Amarr, etc.)
Could be hull size specific. (BC, Cruiser, etc.)
Could be weapons specific. (Guns, Missiles, Drones)
Are you specializing in the combat or combat support(Logistics/Remote Boosting/Fleet Boosting)

I'm not sure if race matters, does it? I do want to be in one of the bigger ships, maybe BC. As far as Combat roles go, I would like to try whichever one of the Support that controls the enemy.

Race matters for at least the beginning.

Lets say for example that you want a Toon that you want to fly a spider tanked drake, then you would end up with skills lower in the tree for Caldari anyways, you will also end up with the support skills for Missiles and Shield Tanking, which would mean that you would have less additional training required to fly similar lined things like Corax, Caracak, Crow, Manticore, Hawk, Fly Catcher, Rook, Cerberus, Onyx, Tengu. Being Spider tanked you would also get skills starting to head towards Ospray and Basilisk.

It's good to have a goal to aim for, and also see what other things have similar training and cross over skills.
