Being very unashamedly selfish what I would like is as detailed a reply as you can or will on the topics of:

(1) Negative Sec, or, The Current and Future State of Wormhole Space: How you see that area of EvE now and what your take on what the future of holes should be.

(2) EvE Expansions: Iterations, Jezuz Features and what YOU think should be aimed for and done.

(3) WIS, Walking In Stations, or as I prefer to call it, 'Space DUST'.
What is your take/stand on whether or not CCP should move forward with development of WiS for EvE? I have detailed some of my ideas in several posts on my blog. Do you see this style of gameplay as possible? useful? attractive to a new playerbase and to some older players?

1. What are you feelings on the bounty system generally?

2. Would you like to see the bounty system expanded upon? (http://poeticstanziel.blogspot.ca/2013/02/a-bucket-list-private-bounties.html)

3. Do you feel bounties can be placed too easily? Should there be a small fee (ISK sink) to place a bounty?

First, thank you all so much for your show of support. I hit 100 likes in a little under five hours, which is just overwhelming to me. Thank you.

LOL Me too. Blink I'm going to be doing my best to see that's the case.

Taross wrote:
I'm thinking of you as a bittervet candidate... How would you say you distinguish yourself from Malcanis, and why should I vote for you, not him?
You should vote for both of us. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Malcanis, I have a huge amount of respect for him, and I think we're going to make a hell of a tag-team.

In terms of distinguishing factors, though, I'd say I'm stronger thinking about EVE's newer players, particularly the ones not associated with blocs and those who are still looking for their play styles. I think I'm also stronger at reading between the lines and I'm definitely more intuitive. Malcanis is stronger on his knowledge of veteran players and he's more analytical than I am. He's slightly better at drawing logical conclusions from disparate facts; I'm the slightly better communicator. But on those two factors, we're talking the difference between Olympic sprinters.

Aesil Maril wrote:
You also mentioned that highsec is almost at equilibrium, maybe slightly in favour of the ganker at the moment.
Yep, but again, it's very slight. The primary differentiating factor here, in my view, is that the gankers have many more ISK and SP than their targets, by and large. A lovely example of this are the multiple flashy ganking Thrashers that spend their time within one jump of Niarja. I'm sure dozens of such ships get lost per day and the players in them have no concern about this at all because a single T1 hauler kill with as little as 50m ISK in loot makes up for a dozen such losses. This usually represents a major loss for the much newer EVE player involved.

I certainly have no objections to ganking and non-consensual PvP and I said as much in the Xander interview. But I believe the amount of ISK at risk to both sides should be within a single order of magnitude. Right now, it isn't even close.

Aesil Maril wrote:
...according to CCP we are at an all time low in EVE history as far as all types of ganking in highsec are concerned.
If this is true -- and I'd love to have a link to your source -- then I'd say this is because of the difficulty in getting the loot away from the victims rather than an inherent nerf to the ability of gankers to kill their targets. CCP is trying to take the profit out of the endeavor. Once there's a tankier T1 hauler (something I also endorse), I suspect the previous equilibrium is going to reestablish itself since the gankers will be able to use these to scoop their loot and escape before they themselves can be ganked.

There are two factors at play here.

First thing, there are far too few WH sites which has turned this endeavor into a process that has to be putting even the most die-hard WH dweller to sleep. There needs to be more excitement in WH space: more random sites, more random occurrences within the sites, and more random occurrences within w-space in general. I left w-space partially because -- very ironically -- it was becoming too predictable.

This is not the sort of thing I should be thinking about completely unexplored space. Blink

Second, living in w-space these days is just horrific. Partially this is the POS issue, but honestly, that's only part of the issue. Security, pods, logistics, and having a market where you live are all factors. The POS revamp is only going to solve some of these issues. I've been watching the F&I threads on this pretty closely and I don't think anyone's come up with the magic bullet yet. My own thinking is leaning toward encouraging CCP to let w-space dwellers place outpost eggs in w-space as an interim step.

I'm running for CSM, not for junior game designer. Still, I've written three blog posts on this one:

I think EVE should have a Perpetuum Online-style tug-of-war sovereignty system.
I think players should be allowed to join pirate factions as full members.
I think it's time to open up Jove space.

TurAmarth ElRandir wrote:

I think CCP Unifex has already reached the decision that walking around is going to be the purview of DUST 514, not EVE. I think EVE characters will get the ability to walk in stations and ships when DUST characters do, and at that point it will be in a purely social setting. I look forward to it in an intellectual sort of way, but I suspect that issue is going to be one for CSM12, not CSM8.

I love the bounty system so much I can't even tell you. I pray it has legs. The worst thing that could happen to the bounty system is that players get bored with it.

What you describe in this blog post is one thing player-to-player contracts was supposed to bring to the game. I don't object to it, but I'd prefer to see a working Mercenary Marketplace before this. It's such a joke how badly the MM was implemented.

Nope. I think the balance is fine. I wouldn't object to a fee to place a bounty -- it makes logical sense -- but I wouldn't push for such a fee either. Might be amusing to make the fee equal to the bounty victim's CSPA charge, though...

If I were to make a change, I'd probably lower the minimums for corps and alliances a little more.

CCP is bringing to their development a whole new vocabulary. Words like lurkers, enablers, small gang leaders, etc are replacing words like carebear, pirate, nullseccer etc...

I would like you to expand a bit on your understanding of these words. In a old post in your blog you gave some insight of your understanding, but as this new vocabulary will be so important in the conversation with the Devs, specially Seagull and Unifex I think it deserves for further delving into.

Also I have the feeling that not only the CSM but some old school devs might have problem to start thinking in this new way.

Thank you in advance for your time if you decide to answer to my query.

All fine answers. I agree with you completely on #3. I've seen those complaints bandied about from the super carebears and wanted to see your feelings on the issue.

lmao the very idea of voting for someone dumb enough to suggest that ganking isn't PVP and non-consensual fighting should be removed from highsec

lmao

maybe your ideas would make sense if you were a csm candidate for wow

First of all, best of luck on your campaign!

I'd like to grill you a bit about this:

Ripard Teg wrote:
EVE players -- all EVE players! -- should be encouraged to play in groups but not forced to do so, or punished if they do not wish to do so.

(emphasis mine)

In the Crossing Zebras interview, you mention that solo suicide gankers should have to work "a lot harder" than those who work in groups, owing to EVE being a social game. You state that "every other activity in the game" is a social activity.

I understand and agree that encouraging group activities in EVE is a good thing for the game and its players. However, I'm not sure what you mean by solo players not being punished. Solo players will feel that they are being "punished" if certain activities or reward levels are beyond their grasp (either absolutely impossible or prohibitively effort/ISK-intensive) because they choose to go it alone. The same principle can of course be applied to solo miners, industrialists, mission runners, and so forth.

How do you propose to encourage more social gameplay without punishing solo players? What would constitute punishment as opposed to merely having to work harder?

"Suddenly, trash pickers! HUNDREDS of winos going through your recyclables." -Piugattuk

Be careful what you wish for.
