Since the current API isn't going to get these things added, I figured I would request them to be added to the mythical toothpaste.

The following should be added to vnd.ccp.eve.Character-v1:

alliance, vnd.ccp.eve.Reference-v1, The alliance which the character is a member of (optional)
faction, vnd.ccp.eve.Reference-v1, The faction which the character is a member of (optional)

The following should be added to vnd.cpp.eve.Corporation-v1:

members, vnd.ccp.eve.Reference-v1, The corporation's member list (this should be public).

vnd.ccp.eve.Alliance-v1 and vnd.cpp.eve.Faction-v1 should added. Alliance should have:

corporations,vnd.cpp.eve.Reference-v1, The corporations in the alliance.

Faction should have:

corporations,vnd.cpp.eve.Reference-v1, The corporations enlisted in the faction.

Why should this be public? It can't be seen in-game either... Imo it's quite fun gathering intel like this in case of a war or such, making that public would make it just a little bit too easy

This information IS available in game. You can see what corp, alliance, or faction or character is in by doing a show info. Just because you have to click to get this information does not make it fun or compelling game play. Furthermore this info is available in the current API. All you have to do is walk character ids. Which is what someone is doing to that is causing pain for the rest of us.

By adding it to the info for the corp, we can cut down on the requests to the server when we are trying to update member lists. Less load == GOOD. Clicking for the sake of clicking == BAD.

You mention above the members of a corporation is public, you are incorrect. The members of a corporation are public only to those in the corp. Anyone outside the corp cannot see the list of members.

If the list was public then sites like EveWho wouldn't exist :)

I never said the member list was public. What I said is that the information about what corp, alliance, or faction a character (corp and alliance for that matter) IS public. It is just behind a ton of clicks and searching. As you know finding out all the characters in a corp is pretty easy. Why make hundreds of requests to get the character info for these characters that you already know is in a corp when a single request to the the corp feed can return this?

I think part of the problem is everyone is assuming that the list of characters and is what the current corporation member list returns. It is not. It is the list of vnd.ccp.eve.Character-v1 NOT vnd.ccp.eve.Capsuleer-v1. You only get the public information for the characters. AGAIN what corp a character is in is public information. If it wasn't then it wouldn't show up in show info. And no whining about it not being exposed right now. Bad design doesn't mean it was intentional design.
