On the off chance that someone reading this thread puts one and one together and thinks that my recent suggestion in this forum has anything to do with James' candidacy; it doesn't. That suggestion was from me, myself and I, and nobody else. It is not the opinion of SSC in whole, the alliance in whole or even a group of people from it. It was merely something that I had been thinking for awhile myself. To be honest, I don't even know what James thinks of it, never ran it through our directors as it was never intended to be nothing more than a presentation of an idea I had.

That said, I still support James (even if he ends up posting and saying that my idea is bad because A and B and maybe even C too)

Your idea probably is bad because of because A and B and maybe even C too. Also not got my vote because Mess knows what he's talking about.

Better the goon/test CSM we know of before we have sharia law force upon us, no school, no hands, no spaceships.. its not halal.

No, no. We really are carebears. juicy carebears that run sites all day and are truly hopeless at pvp. Anyone can beat us, really.

Don't look at our killboard, it's a lie.

Just open fire when you see one of us, and everything will work out just fine. Bear

(kk, maybe I'm trying to lull some people into actually fighting us instead of blueballing us. Is it working?)

Yes. I have been lulled into a false sense of security.

If James Arget doesn't win ... its just proof that CCP doesn't care ....and fiddles with election results...

Do you have any specific ideas on "rebalancing" WH-space? What is your plan?

I want to know why I should give you my votes Big smile

I have an actual question.

James, do you think wormholes need to be shaken up and see what happens? Are you an advocate against the status quo? Do you think wormholes are pretty much fine as they are? Do you support any methods to increase the ease of evictions in any class of space? Do you support a way to encourage more people to fight outside of evictions?

Rebalancing of Wspace is a dangerous proposition because, for the most part, it's a balanced space right now. Instead, I'd say the problem is that there are certain highly optimized tactics which can't be deviated from if you're looking to succeed. Instead, I'd like to see some innovation which rocks the boat a bit and forces people to find a new balance.

For example, what if there were a few roaming wormhole which dropped you out within a 15km radius instead of a 5km radius? It's a relatively small change, but it would have some pretty deep repercussions.

All that said, Moros needs a nerf, because the combination of slot layout and racial tracking+damage+cap use put it far ahead of other dreads for anything short of shooting towers or (maybe) full tank refits. Additionally, the capacitor bonus in pulsars is balanced on paper, but in practice it has a massive buff to peak recharge rates that needs to be brought under control.

Absolutely. Apocrypha was a long time ago. The core mechanics of wspace have been very solid, and have allowed the area of the game to do very well with just some minor changes over the years. However, even as almost every other area of the game has seen additional content, wspace has kept the same features. So, yes, they are fine as they are, but I'm sure that if development time was put into them, they could be even better, and that's what I'm hoping for.

Evictions should stay hard, because it's an all or nothing attack. If you're defending, and you lose, you've likely lost almost all your assets. I want people to keep living in wspace, which means that as long as you're putting time and effort into defending your space, you should be able to defend it against all but an even more determined attacker. The only possible exception to this would be some way to better counter POS based ECM, as right now a few POS gunners on a tower with little more than ECM can hold off a much larger attacking force in lower class wspace where dreads can't be brought in.

The more people are out in space and available to get shot, the better. Right now fights generally come in the form of ganks, gentlemanly brawls, or evictions. Let's get some more content, and some more stuff to fight over.

Nerf is so 2011.. it's called balancing now Smile

What about if they actually balanced the other dreads to be more useful / in line with the Moros. That way everyone loves you, instead of all the Moros pilots voting for someone else.

You're welcome Smile

And just to put you on the spot..

What do you see as the top 3 bugs / issues with wormhole space that will improve it for everyone as a whole.
Feel free to list more if you like, I just want to see what sort of things that you've identified in your mind. May help other wormholers relate to you.

As far as a quick fix action, "rebalancing" just the Moros should be easier than doing a reevaluation on the whole class of Dreadnaughts.

Top issue has got to be POSes. It's a known issue, and it's a big one, and it's a pain for us to deal with. I'll pick lack of development for number two, as apart from some game-wide tweaks and bug fixes, there has been very little development done in wspace since their release. Lastly, roles management. I say this one because it's a barrier to entry into wspace, and we'd all love to see more people heading into wspace, so the easier to get in the better.

Rebalancing is already on the schedule. Given enough time, I am sure even all the Dreads will have their roles to fill.

Best of luck, James :)
