Hey guys and gals,

Tonight I announced my candidacy for the next CSM on the Podside podcast.

From talking to all the CSM members that have come on the show or are a part of the podcasting and blogging community, I've heard that the CSM is not listened to and just something ccp installed to keep the masses placated. I know I'm just 1 person, but I'd like to be your voice this go around. Most of the active CSM7 members have decided not to run again. I know that "fresh blood" is needed and I can bring a point of view unique to my experiences. I know I can't represent every person in this massive game, however I can represent your view as long as your willing to share it with me. Unlike a lot of the past CSM's, I look forward to hearing from the eve players.

I look forward to representing you all as a member of CSM 8. Thank you for your consideration.

It would be nice if you told us what your views on the way forward are.

So you have our attention. What is it you want to advocate for change to CCP?

I don't listen to the podcast, and it doesn't look as if you've contributed a great deal on the forums, so I'm afraid that I have absolutely no idea who you are, where you come from and what you're likely to push for as a CSM member. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Perhaps update the OP with at least some of that information?

So what are the reasons anybody should vote for you besides "I'm on a podcast"?

That seems to be all he had.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I've taken the liberty of using your OP to whip up a quick, better version that might be more likely to persuade people to vote for you. You just need to fill in the blanks.

Hey guys and gals, I'm Chendow Decent from the Podside podcast. Some of you may know me. I come from the ______ region in EVE, and I spend much of my time ______. I feel that ______ has been in need of a good CSM candidate for a long time, and I'd love to represent the views of all you who also engage in ______ to CCP. I know that "fresh blood" is needed and I can bring a point of view unique to my experiences, which are _____ and some ______.

I've heard that the CSM is not listened to and just something ccp installed to keep the masses placated. I intend to do something about this by ______ and by ______. This will have a profound effect on the way CCP responds to the CSM, and should ultimately lead to ______. I feel that the most effective members of CSM7 were ______, ______ and ______, and for the most part I agree with their views on EVE, although I feel that the Winter CSM Minutes uncovered some less-than-desirable facts about ______.

I know I can't represent every person in this massive game, however I can represent your view as long as you're willing to share it with me. I shall endeavour to circumvent the fact that every single one of you probably has different views by ______.

I suggest you bulk it out a bit as well as replacing the lines with words, because it is still a bit skinny.

I think this pretty clearly illustrates to everyone what good it would be to have this guy on the CSM;

No platform.
No details.
No replies. (From the 'candidate')

And yet he is going to further communications with CCP?

Not with my votes.

As far as what I've done in Eve:

I've done the high sec miner, mission runner, and corp ceo stuff. I've lived in low sec for a couple months heading up the LS arm of a corp (mostly PvE stuff). For the last year I've been living in 0.0 both in the CFC and now HBC. I've also been a CEO of a renting corp in Solar. I've used all the sov mechanics except for station management (outpost). I lived in a c5 for 6 months with a great WH alliance and lived in a c2 with a couple corpies for a couple months. I helped educate an alliance ceo on what happens when the corps hate you and vote another corp in as the executor. Done a little spying, nothing major. Helped with some corp theft, for a small fee of course. Overall, I've experienced a lot of the ideas and concepts that make EVE such an interesting and unique game.

I had a very long explaination of each area of the game, but the forums hate me and the post button erased it all

The reason it took me a couple days to respond to you all is that I've been upgrading my desktop and recieved a few DOA parts. Sorry for the delay.

I'll be posting some more about me thru out the day. If you more questions, I hope to answer them.

High sec: As many of you know, the safety of HS is an illusion. The new crimewatch and bounty systems make it a little easier to see who maybe harmful to your ships well being. The risk vs reward in HS is fairly balanced, lower risk & lower reward than LS, 0.0 or WH space.

Low Sec: LS has seen a lot of love leately. The updates to Faction Warfare have increase the population and activity in LS. With the introduction of Dust into the mix, LS might get more than 5% of the player base involved in that area of the game.

0.0 space: The sov mechanics aren't perfect, but they are completely borked. They need work and CCP knows it. POS mechanics are on the long list of future updates, so that should help eliviate some of the pains. There is a lot of old code that needs to be updated before they can really move forward and design a newer sov mechanic, that takes time. I've used a lot of the current sov mechanics and look forward to seeing what CCP has in mind to improve them.

WH space: CCP implemented this area of the game with a lot of success. A lot of people have talked about improving WH space, but you have to admit, it's fine the way it is. To impliment a lot of the ideas out there, you'd have to introduce 0.0 sov mechanics that already need to be updated. Once the sov mechanics are updated, maybe WH space will get some tweeks, but it's fine the way it currently is.

Most of the richest players in the game are based in hi-sec. People who laugh at those of us who scrabble for scraps like Tech moons.

To be fair, that's because that's where the hubs are. If the trade hubs were all in low somehow, all the richest people would be in low. It's not like those people making trillions a month are doing it mining or running level 4 missions.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Saying 'highsec is only rich because of the trade hubs' misses the point as to why those trade hubs are in highsec in the first place.

Because of safe logistics and availability of goods, as well as being a central location in Eve? By god, you're right! Who'd have ever drawn such a conclusion...

Faction Warfare has seen a lot of attention but faction warfare does not define low sec. There is a large chunk of low Dec that does not participate in or even see faction warfare.

First, invest in a browser that spell checks your text. Firefox does this, I am pretty sure most other major browsers do so as well.

Secondly, I don't have to admit that wormhole space is fine as it is. Lack of private storage at POSes, lack of any new wormhole content in years, useless T3 subsystems, and issues with many of the balance changes that CCP makes elsewhere would be the start of my list.

Thirdly, do you have some sort of blog or website with any further information? You may have noticed that it is pretty common with just about every other candidate.
