Now that killing you is profitable again, I would like to cordially welcome you back to EVE Online. Unlike that game you were playing in November, EVE is a mulitplayer game in which you are a target. It requires some amount of cunning, situational awareness, and general paranoia. On some level you will feel a bit uneasy when you undock, this is working as intended, and we welcome you back into our ranks as typical, slightly nervous EVE players. Have fun, see you in the belts. ;)

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

Thanks for the welcome but we've been at the party for years. Carebears got targeted on a semi-regularly basis in all the previous systems this just adds anew flavor to the frosting.

EVE has never been safe unless you stay docked. Just remember the bounty system is a two way system. You kill carebears and they sell the kill rights. Should make for some interesting back and forth.

I personally welcome our new Bounty Overlords.

Does anyone have the numbers to show that ganking a fully insured, max yeild fit Mackinaw in highsec is profitable with the highest payout on the bounty?
And if so, does it remain profitable in 1.0 or 0.9 sec?

I have been placing 40M bounties on Macks in Kamio (60 so far); average payout on a kill seems to be 32-35M. Add in some half decent loot and some salvage if you're lucky and you'll be able to more than compensate any lost destroyers.

The difference between gankers & myself is that I freely admit to having no real PvP skills.

The gankers I know of don't claim to have any PvP skills, they claim to have organisational skills.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Eh, search around on the forums a bit, many people have attempted a dictionary-definition. I will just say that I apply the term loosely to anyone in highsec I catch doing what I would consider to be "carebear stuff".

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

Some of the gankers me and a friend have ran into bought more people to the party.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

A carebear doesn't like to pvp (player vs player) and generally behave like this in an otherwise harsh and unforgiving game.

Someone who actively avoids losing thier ship in combat.

This is the part that can blow your mind .... carebears PvP too.

The gatecamps that only shoot Industrials and lone combat ships --> Carebears
The wardec corp that only targets purely industrial corps --> Carebears
Nulsec Corps that have Blue Standings with 95% of EvE --> Carebears
etc etc.

No one but a terrible carebear gives a **** whether gankers have any PvP skills.

I can also say that this is an inaccurate definition.

Good ol' Piggy showing the obsession they have toward carebears. You really need some help if this continues on because it can't be healthy to obsess over something like this.

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

I like how you referred to me in the plural. ^_^ We are Legion, we are many!
Seriously though, I wouldn't go as far as obsessed, more like diligent in my work.
