AssetList.xml - How does one look inside rows

i have the file saved and reading it from my local drive just fine

i have been trying to parse the asset listing for a player and i have ran into a snag
i do not understand how to get a listing with child locations

i found this page
http://wiki.eve-id.net/PHP_Parsing:_Assets_XML
and i got it to work
and injects very nicely to a mysql databse
i noticed on the talk page

there is a way to possibly do all the child processes but i don't understand the first page to be able to integrate the info.
can anyone help me so that the location info will save to the database and child info will be correct
