I have always wondered why CCP has decided not to include a cockpit view. I can speculate that it is due to the vast number of ships at the capsuleers disposal. I don't understand the decision to implement these 3d avatars that you can put clothes on.
If they wanted to create immersion in my opinion a cockpit view would be a great addition. Also was curious as to why you cannot lock the camera view. I wanted to lock the camera directly behind my vessel or possibly save a few camera drone orientations with keybindings. Just some suggestions wanted to get some input from the community. Thanks! Big smile

This is what you'd see if you had a “cockpit view” in EVE. That's why we don't.

Pretty sure what you see in game IS the cockpit view.

Or at least what your brain sees.

I would settle for a locked-camera mode, where the camera is always pointing towards the nose-front end of the ship, for scenic purposes.

As a general suggestion, try reading the lore first. As people pointed out, capsuleers control our ships with our mind from within an hydrostatic pod, and what we see on screen is just a convenient virtual interfce delivered straight to the brain by the pod. That's why we appreciate changes on how the sky and objects are rendered, and also it's why there are sounds and we can see lasers in space and stuff.

i want to be able to put in a virus so the clone is killed by its own shiplinks and the ship is left dead in space
