I am having some problems

Hello fellow pilots. I have returned from a good long half year hiatus of eve online. I want to play the game...but when I try installing it it gives me "an unknown error occurred while downloading the installer payload" or "archive extraction failed: 3" I cannot even install the game or anything. I have paid in full my month and would like to play right now. But unfortunately I cannot get onto the game :(

Please..anybody out there, help me. Why is this doing this? I never ever had a problem installing eve before. Why now?

Try running the repair tool. Failing that look for any file in the Eve folder with the .patch ending and delete it and retry.

Thankyou for your help. But there is nothing in the eve folder since the installer quits right away :(

There is no repair.exe or anything in there at all whatsoever :( I paid..I would like to enjoy!

Could be some left over crap in your registry.

Run CCleaner or some other reg cleaner and try a fresh instal.

Yeah make sure you are making a clean install first.

If you're brave you can manually edit the registry. Just delete anything related to eve.

I have tried those both. There is nothing on my computer related to eve as of right now. I just want to...get back to roaming around space in my Harbinger...where nothing else mattered and just...chill out. Please..I need to get on tonight! I can't figure this out!!

Have you tried a registry cleaner? What about running 'regedit' in the run line? Search for anything named CCP or EVE and delete it.

And you are absolutely sure there are no leftover files or directories from a previous install? Sounds like a path problem but can't be certain what you're doing over there. What?

File a petition, they may ask you for a log file of some kind from your machine. CCP is best equiped to help you.

I can't think of anything else. Maybe best to try the issues forum. Some poeple have had similar issues with the latest patch.

Ya know...this is really getting me mad. I come back to the game and this is what I have to deal with? God dammit! Please just somebody helpz me! :(

guys...listen.

This is not a problem with the launcher, client or anything like that.

It is a problem with the INSTALLER. All methods I have been told by ccp to try have to do with the game being already installed. BUT THE GAME IS NOT INSTALLED!! NOTHING EVE RELATED IS ON MY COMPUTER.

It just says Archive Extraction failed: 3 EVERY time! This is REALLY getting me mad now!! X( I have stayed at my computer for 5 hours now trying to figure this out today!!!

Usually when the installer detects a download error it tries to run the repair tool anyway .

I'd advice deleting and retrying the download if you haven't already the installer appears to think its 'corrupt'
